Therefore I am all the more eager to send him, so that when you see him again you may be glad and I may have less anxiety.

每當想起你的淚水，我就切切地想去見你，好讓我的喜樂得以滿足。

我們把所看到、所聽到的也向你們宣揚，好使你們也能夠與我們相契合；而我們又是與父和他的兒子耶穌基督相契合的。我們寫這些事，好使我們大家的喜樂得以滿足。

約瑟備好座車，上到歌珊去迎接他的父親以色列。他一到父親的面前，就伏在父親的脖子上，在父親的脖子上哭了很久。以色列對約瑟說：「既然我看見你的面，知道你還活著，現在我就是死也甘心。」

我寫了那封信，免得我來的時候，那些本應該使我喜樂的人使我憂傷，因為我深信你們大家以我的喜樂為你們大家的喜樂。

他們就把約瑟對他們所說的一切話都告訴了他。當他們的父親雅各看見約瑟派來接他的車輛時，他的靈就甦醒了。以色列說：「好，我的兒子約瑟還活著！在我死之前，我要去見他。」

以色列對約瑟說：「我沒有想到能見你的面，看哪，連你的後裔，神都讓我見到了！」

尤其使他們傷心的，就是他說他們不會再看到他面的那句話。然後他們送他上了船。

因為他一直切切地想念你們大家，並且因你們聽說他患了病，他就極其難過。事實上，他雖然患了病幾乎死去，可是神憐憫了他；不僅憐憫他，也憐憫了我，免得我憂上加憂。
