每逢想起你流淚的情形，我就渴望見你，好使我的心充滿喜樂。

約瑟備好車前去迎接父親以色列。父子重逢，約瑟抱住父親哭了很久。以色列對約瑟說：「我現在看到你還活著，就是死也安心了。」

我曾為這事寫信給你們，免得我到你們那裡時，那些本該使我喜樂的人反而使我憂傷。我也深信你們會以我的喜樂為你們的喜樂。

雅各聽了他們轉述約瑟的話，又看見約瑟派來接他的車，才回過神來。以色列說：「我信了！我兒約瑟還活著，我要在死之前去見他。」

以色列對約瑟說：「我以為再也見不到你了，上帝竟然還讓我見到了你的兒子！」

最使他們傷心的就是他說「你們再也見不到我的面了」。最後，眾人送他上了船。

他很想念你們，並且感到不安，因為你們聽說了他患病的事。他確實病了，幾乎喪命；但上帝憐憫了他，不但憐憫他，也憐憫了我，沒讓我憂上加憂。
