爾知提摩太之徵驗、即與我共役於福音、猶子之於父、

爾知提摩太已被試驗、彼如子之於父、從而事我從而事我或作與我同勞以傳福音、

蒂茂德則一片丹忱無懈可擊。彼之事予如父、亦步亦趨、共贊福音之傳揚、爾等所知也。

因此我已打發提摩太到你們那裏去。他在主裏面，是我所親愛、有忠心的兒子。他必提醒你們，記念我在基督裏怎樣行事，在各處各教會中怎樣教導人。

為此我先前也寫信給你們，要試驗你們，看你們凡事順從不順從。

寫信給那因信主作我真兒子的提摩太。願恩惠、憐憫、平安從父神和我們主基督耶穌歸與你！

我們又打發一位兄弟同去；這人的熱心，我們在許多事上屢次試驗過。現在他因為深信你們，就更加熱心了。

寫信給我親愛的兒子提摩太。願恩惠、憐憫、平安從父神和我們主基督耶穌歸與你！

保羅要帶他同去，只因那些地方的猶太人都知道他父親是希臘人，就給他行了割禮。他們經過各城，把耶路撒冷使徒和長老所定的條規交給門徒遵守。於是眾教會信心越發堅固，人數天天加增。聖靈既然禁止他們在亞細亞講道，他們就經過弗呂家、加拉太一帶地方。到了每西亞的邊界，他們想要往庇推尼去，耶穌的靈卻不許。他們就越過每西亞，下到特羅亞去。在夜間有異象現與保羅。有一個馬其頓人站着求他說：「請你過到馬其頓來幫助我們。」保羅既看見這異象，我們隨即想要往馬其頓去，以為神召我們傳福音給那裏的人聽。於是從特羅亞開船，一直行到撒摩特喇，第二天到了尼亞坡里。從那裏來到腓立比，就是馬其頓這一方的頭一個城，也是羅馬的駐防城。我們在這城裏住了幾天。

所以，你們務要在眾教會面前顯明你們愛心的憑據，並我所誇獎你們的憑據。

我兒提摩太啊，我照從前指着你的預言，將這命令交託你，叫你因此可以打那美好的仗。

但你已經服從了我的教訓、品行、志向、信心、寬容、愛心、忍耐，

因為我沒有別人與我同心，實在掛念你們的事。

現在寫信給提多，就是照着我們共信之道作我真兒子的。願恩惠、平安從父神和我們的救主基督耶穌歸與你！

我說這話，不是吩咐你們，乃是藉着別人的熱心試驗你們愛心的實在。
