It is right for me to feel this way about all of you, since I have you in my heart and, whether I am in chains or defending and confirming the gospel, all of you share in God’s grace with me.

It is right for me to feel this way about all of you. I love you with all my heart. I may be held by chains, or I may be standing up for the truth of the good news. Either way, all of you share in God’s grace together with me.

It is right for me to feel this way about you all, because I hold you in my heart, for you are all partakers with me of grace, both in my imprisonment and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel.

So it is right that I should feel as I do about all of you, for you have a special place in my heart. You share with me the special favor of God, both in my imprisonment and in defending and confirming the truth of the Good News.

Indeed, it is right for me to think this way about all of you, because I have you in my heart, and you are all partners with me in grace, both in my imprisonment and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel.

我說這話，不是要定你們的罪，我已經說過，你們常在我們心裏，我們情願與你們同生共死。

因為從第一天直到如今，你們都同心合意興旺福音。

因此，我－保羅為你們外邦人作了基督耶穌囚徒的，替你們祈禱。

我－保羅親筆問候你們。要記念我在捆鎖中。願恩惠與你們同在！

但知道聖靈在各城裏向我指證，說有捆鎖與患難等着我。

我為這福音的奧祕作了帶鐵鏈的使者，讓我能照着當盡的本分放膽宣講。

後者是出於愛心，知道我奉差遣是為福音辯護的。前者傳基督是出於自私，動機不純，企圖要加增我捆鎖的苦楚。

然而，你們能和我分擔憂患是一件好事。

我為這福音受苦難，甚至像犯人一樣被捆綁，然而神的話沒有被捆綁。

所以，我這同作長老，作基督受苦的證人和分享將來所要顯現的榮耀的人，勉勵在你們中間的長老們：

你們就是我們的推薦信，寫在我們心裏，被眾人所知道、所誦讀的，

親愛的，雖然這樣說，我們仍深信你們有更好的情況，更接近救恩。因為神並非不公義，竟忘記你們的工作和你們為他的名所顯的愛心，就是你們過去和現在伺候聖徒的愛心。

同蒙天召的聖潔弟兄啊，要思想我們所宣認為使者、為大祭司的耶穌；

我認為趁我還在這帳棚的時候，應該激發你們的記憶，

所以，不要以給我們的主作見證為恥，也不要以我這為主被囚的為恥；總要靠着神的大能，與我為福音同受苦難。

凡事包容，凡事相信，凡事盼望，凡事忍耐。

因為在基督耶穌裏，受割禮不受割禮都沒有功效，惟獨使人發出仁愛的信心才有功效。

我們為你們眾人常常感謝神，禱告的時候提到你們，在我們的父神面前，不住地記念你們因信心所做的工作，因愛心所受的勞苦，因盼望我們主耶穌基督所存的堅忍。神所愛的弟兄啊，我知道你們是蒙揀選的；因為我們的福音傳到你們那裏，不僅在言語，也在能力，也在聖靈和充足的確信。你們知道，我們在你們那裏，為你們的緣故是怎樣為人。

你們都是光明之子，都是白晝之子；我們不屬黑夜，也不屬幽暗。

凡我所做的，都是為福音的緣故，為要與人共享這福音的好處。

倒要歡喜，因為你們是與基督一同受苦，使你們在他榮耀顯現的時候也可以歡喜快樂。

於是千夫長上前拿住他，吩咐用兩條鐵鏈捆鎖，又問他是甚麼人，做了甚麼事。

同時，也要為我們禱告，求神給我們開傳道的門，能宣講基督的奧祕，

打了許多棍，就把他們下在監裏，囑咐獄警嚴緊看守。獄警領了這樣的命令，就把他們下在內監，兩腳拴在木架上。約在半夜，保羅和西拉正在禱告，唱詩讚美神，眾囚犯也側耳聽着的時候，

我為主作囚徒的勸你們，既然蒙召，行事為人就要與你們所蒙的呼召相稱。

一面在眾人面前公然被毀謗，遭患難；一面陪伴那些受這樣苦難的人。你們同情那些遭監禁的人，也欣然忍受你們的家業被人搶去，因為你們知道自己有更美好更長存的家業。
