Dear friends, don’t be surprised when the fiery ordeal comes among you to test you as if something unusual were happening to you.Instead, rejoice as you share in the sufferings of the Messiah, so that you may also rejoice with great joy at the revelation of His glory.If you are ridiculed for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you.

For God has not given us a spirit of fearfulness, but one of power, love, and sound judgment.So don’t be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord, or of me His prisoner. Instead, share in suffering for the gospel, relying on the power of God.

It is a clear evidence of God’s righteous judgment that you will be counted worthy of God’s kingdom, for which you also are suffering,since it is righteous for God to repay with affliction those who afflict you

This saying is trustworthy: For if we have died with Him, we will also live with Him;if we endure, we will also reign with Him; if we deny Him, He will also deny us;

and if children, also heirs— heirs of God and coheirs with Christ— seeing that we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him.

Don’t fear those who kill the body but are not able to kill the soul; rather, fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Indeed, God is my salvation; I will trust Him and not be afraid, for Yah, the Lord, is my strength and my song. He has become my salvation.”

Listen to Me, you who know righteousness, the people in whose heart is My instruction: do not fear disgrace by men, and do not be shattered by their taunts.

I— I am the One who comforts you. Who are you that you should fear man who dies, or a son of man who is given up like grass?

Those who are persecuted for righteousness are blessed, for the kingdom of heaven is theirs.“ You are blessed when they insult and persecute you and falsely say every kind of evil against you because of Me.Be glad and rejoice, because your reward is great in heaven. May the Lord be praised! Day after day He bears our burdens; God is our salvation. SelahOur God is a God of salvation, and escape from death belongs to the Lord God.

But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and persecute you. They will hand you over to the synagogues and prisons, and you will be brought before kings and governors because of My name.It will lead to an opportunity for you to witness.Therefore make up your minds not to prepare your defense ahead of time,for I will give you such words and a wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict.You will even be betrayed by parents, brothers, relatives, and friends. They will kill some of you.You will be hated by everyone because of My name,but not a hair of your head will be lost.By your endurance gain your lives.

Therefore, we may boldly say: The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?

But Peter and John answered them,“ Whether it’s right in the sight of God for us to listen to you rather than to God, you decide;for we are unable to stop speaking about what we have seen and heard.”After threatening them further, they released them. On the contrary, after we had previously suffered, and we were treated outrageously in Philippi, as you know, we were emboldened by our God to speak the gospel of God to you in spite of great opposition.

“ And I say to you, My friends, don’t fear those who kill the body, and after that can do nothing more.But I will show you the One to fear: Fear Him who has authority to throw people into hell after death. Yes, I say to you, this is the One to fear!Aren’t five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten in God’s sight.Indeed, the hairs of your head are all counted. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows!

Don’t be afraid of what you are about to suffer. Look, the Devil is about to throw some of you into prison to test you, and you will have affliction for 10 days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.

Therefore, let it be known to you that this saving work of God has been sent to the Gentiles; they will listen!”

Whoever sacrifices a thank offering honors Me, and whoever orders his conduct, I will show him the salvation of God.”

After they called in the apostles and had them flogged, they ordered them not to speak in the name of Jesus and released them.Then they went out from the presence of the Sanhedrin, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to be dishonored on behalf of the Name.Every day in the temple complex, and in various homes, they continued teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Messiah.
