是要叫你们的信心经过试验，就比那被火炼过，仍会朽坏的金子更宝贵，可以在耶稣基督显现的时候，得著称赞、荣耀和尊贵。你们虽然没有见过他，却爱他；现在虽然不能看见他，却信他。因此，你们就有无法形容、满有荣耀的大喜乐，得到你们信心的效果，就是灵魂得救。

藉着各样的祷告和祈求，随时在圣灵里祈祷，并且要在这事上恒久警醒，为众圣徒祈求。也要为我祈求，使我传讲的时候，得着当说的话，可以坦然无惧地讲明福音的奥秘，

因此，我打发提摩太到你们那里去。他是我在主里亲爱又忠心的儿子，他要提醒你们我在基督里是怎样行事为人，正如我在各处教会中所教导的一样。
