然以愛故寧求爾、如一老邁之保羅、今且為基督耶穌之囚、

然爾我素相愛、與其命爾、不如求爾、蓋我保羅今老矣、而為耶穌基督囚、

然以愛故、寧求爾、蓋我保羅已老矣、今因耶穌基督被囚、

惟為成全愛德、寧以勸勉出之。我葆樂已龍鍾老矣；今且為基督耶穌之故、而遭受禁錮；

yet I prefer to appeal to you on the basis of love. It is as none other than Paul— an old man and now also a prisoner of Christ Jesus—

But we love each other. And I would rather appeal to you on the basis of that love. I, Paul, am an old man. I am now also a prisoner because of Christ Jesus.

But because of our love, I prefer simply to ask you. Consider this as a request from me— Paul, an old man and now also a prisoner for the sake of Christ Jesus.

I appeal to you, instead, on the basis of love. I, Paul, as an elderly man and now also as a prisoner of Christ Jesus,

yet for love’s sake I rather appeal to you— since I am such a person as Paul, an old man, and now also a prisoner of Christ Jesus—

yet for love’s sake I rather appeal to you— being such a one as Paul, the aged, and now also a prisoner of Jesus Christ—

yet for love’s sake I rather beseech, being such a one as Paul the aged, and now a prisoner also of Christ Jesus:

I appeal to you, instead, on the basis of love. I, Paul, as an elderly man and now also as a prisoner of Christ Jesus,

Yet for love’s sake I rather beseech[ thee], being such an one as Paul the aged, and now also a prisoner of Jesus Christ.

I would rather appeal to you on the basis of love– I, Paul, an old man and even now a prisoner for the sake of Christ Jesus–

yet for love’s sake I rather beg, being such a one as Paul, the aged, but also a prisoner of Jesus Christ.

I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called,

I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.

Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.

Gray hair is a crown of glory; it is gained in a righteous life.

Do not cast me off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength is spent.

even to your old age I am he, and to gray hairs I will carry you. I have made, and I will bear; I will carry and will save.

So even to old age and gray hairs, O God, do not forsake me, until I proclaim your might to another generation, your power to all those to come.

Paul, a prisoner for Christ Jesus, and Timothy our brother, To Philemon our beloved fellow workerand Apphia our sister and Archippus our fellow soldier, and the church in your house:Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.I thank my God always when I remember you in my prayers,because I hear of your love and of the faith that you have toward the Lord Jesus and for all the saints,and I pray that the sharing of your faith may become effective for the full knowledge of every good thing that is in us for the sake of Christ.For I have derived much joy and comfort from your love, my brother, because the hearts of the saints have been refreshed through you.Accordingly, though I am bold enough in Christ to command you to do what is required,yet for love’s sake I prefer to appeal to you— I, Paul, an old man and now a prisoner also for Christ Jesus—I appeal to you for my child, Onesimus, whose father I became in my imprisonment.( Formerly he was useless to you, but now he is indeed useful to you and to me.)I am sending him back to you, sending my very heart.I would have been glad to keep him with me, in order that he might serve me on your behalf during my imprisonment for the gospel,but I preferred to do nothing without your consent in order that your goodness might not be by compulsion but of your own accord.For this perhaps is why he was parted from you for a while, that you might have him back forever,no longer as a bondservant but more than a bondservant, as a beloved brother— especially to me, but how much more to you, both in the flesh and in the Lord.So if you consider me your partner, receive him as you would receive me.If he has wronged you at all, or owes you anything, charge that to my account.I, Paul, write this with my own hand: I will repay it— to say nothing of your owing me even your own self.Yes, brother, I want some benefit from you in the Lord. Refresh my heart in Christ.Confident of your obedience, I write to you, knowing that you will do even more than I say.At the same time, prepare a guest room for me, for I am hoping that through your prayers I will be graciously given to you.Epaphras, my fellow prisoner in Christ Jesus, sends greetings to you,and so do Mark, Aristarchus, Demas, and Luke, my fellow workers.The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.

For this reason I, Paul, a prisoner of Christ Jesus on behalf of you Gentiles—

Beloved, I urge you as sojourners and exiles to abstain from the passions of the flesh, which wage war against your soul.

I urge you the more earnestly to do this in order that I may be restored to you the sooner.

Working together with him, then, we appeal to you not to receive the grace of God in vain.
