所以，雖然我在基督裡大有膽量，可以吩咐你去做合宜的事，但為了愛的緣故，我寧願懇求你。我保羅——像我這樣一個老人，而現在又是基督耶穌的囚犯——

曾經有誰當兵自備糧餉呢？有誰栽種葡萄園不吃園中的果子呢？有誰牧養羊群不喝羊群的奶呢？

你們應當牧養你們中間神的羊群，要按神的意思照顧他們，不是出於勉強，而是出於甘心；也不是出於貪財，而是出於樂意；也不要壓制所分配給你們的那些人，而要做羊群的榜樣。

所以，我認為必須鼓勵這些弟兄先到你們那裡去，把你們已經許諾的惠贈提前安排好，這樣就表明你們所預備好的就是惠贈，而不是被強取的。

在你掌權的日子，你的子民都甘心奉獻自己；你的少年人以聖潔為裝飾，如黎明初曉時的甘露歸屬你。
