故望勿以為主作證是羞、亦勿以予之因主被囚為恥。當賴天主之德、毅然與我共為福音而忍辱負重也。

尚有別號儒斯多之葉素、亦祝爾平安。割禮中人、第有此輩與吾同勞、傳天主國；此輩慰我多矣。

因此、我葆樂竟為爾異邦人之故、而作基督耶穌之囚徒矣。

吾儕乃天主所假之手、爾等則為天主之田園、天主之第宅也。

惟為成全愛德、寧以勸勉出之。我葆樂已龍鍾老矣；今且為基督耶穌之故、而遭受禁錮；

奉天主恩旨、而為耶穌基督之宗徒者、葆樂、偕兄弟蒂茂德、

而先遣從事基督福音之天主忠僕、兄弟蒂茂德、前來慰問、以堅爾之信德、

奉天主恩旨、為耶穌基督之宗徒者、葆樂、偕兄弟蒂茂德、致書於格林多之天主教會、以及亞該亞全境之聖徒曰：

蓋我已為福音之故而成為被鍊加鎖之星使。果能不為威武所屈、侃侃而談、庶幾不辱使命、是所至願也。

葆樂西爾文、蒂茂德、致書於德颯洛尼信奉天主聖父及主耶穌基督之聖教同人曰：

餘如瑪爾各、亞利斯大各、代瑪斯、露稼、亦皆與我通力合作皆囑筆向爾問安。

是故吾以因主被囚之身、剴切勸爾修身砥行、無忝爾之聖召、

更望我親愛之莘疇、與諸姊妹通力合作。彼等已往助予傳揚福音、不遺餘力；即葛雷孟及其他錄名於生命書之同道、亦屢承其照拂也。
