The Lord says to Edom,“ I will cut you down to size among the nations; you will be greatly despised.

我使你以东在列国中为最小的，被人大大藐视。

看哪，我要使你在列国中为最小，被人大大藐视。

耶和华对以东说：“我要让你成为列国中最弱小的国家，使你饱受藐视。

看哪！我必使你在列国中成为弱小的，你必大受藐视。

我使你－以東在列國中為最小的，被人大大藐視。

看哪，我要使你在列國中為最小，被人大大藐視。

看哪，我要使你在列國中為最小，被人大大藐視。

耶和華對以東說：「我要讓你成為列國中最弱小的國家，使你飽受藐視。

看哪！我必使你在列國中成為弱小的，你必大受藐視。

『看吧，我必使你在列國中成為小的；你必極度被藐視。

耶和華曰、我使爾在列邦中為微小、甚被藐視、

維爾以東、我使之卑微、在列邦中為人所藐視、

主謂以東曰、我使爾在列邦中為至微、令爾極被藐視、

“ See, I will make you small among the nations; you will be utterly despised.

The Lord says to Edom,“ I will make you weak among the nations. They will look down on you.

Behold, I will make you small among the nations; you shall be utterly despised.

Look, I will make you insignificant among the nations; you will be deeply despised.

“ Behold, I will make you small among the nations; You are greatly despised.

“ Behold, I will make you small among the nations; You shall be greatly despised.

Behold, I have made thee small among the nations: thou art greatly despised.

Look, I will make you insignificant among the nations; you will be deeply despised.

Behold, I have made thee small among the heathen: thou art greatly despised.

The LORD says,“ Look! I will make you a weak nation; you will be greatly despised!

Behold, I have made you small among the nations. You are greatly despised.

Edom will be taken over, and Seir, its enemy, will be conquered, while Israel marches on in triumph.

The Lord of Heaven’s Armies has done it to destroy your pride and bring low all earth’s nobility.

Then my enemies will see that the Lord is on my side. They will be ashamed that they taunted me, saying,“ So where is the Lord— that God of yours?” With my own eyes I will see their downfall; they will be trampled like mud in the streets.

The Lord makes some poor and others rich; he brings some down and lifts others up.He lifts the poor from the dust and the needy from the garbage dump. He sets them among princes, placing them in seats of honor. For all the earth is the Lord’s, and he has set the world in order.

It will be the lowliest of all the nations, never again great enough to rise above its neighbors.

When they decrease in number and become impoverished through oppression, trouble, and sorrow,the Lord pours contempt on their princes, causing them to wander in trackless wastelands.

His mighty arm has done tremendous things! He has scattered the proud and haughty ones.He has brought down princes from their thrones and exalted the humble.

He knows what they do, and in the night he overturns and destroys them.He strikes them down because they are wicked, doing it openly for all to see.For they turned away from following him. They have no respect for any of his ways.They cause the poor to cry out, catching God’s attention. He hears the cries of the needy.But if he chooses to remain quiet, who can criticize him? When he hides his face, no one can find him, whether an individual or a nation.
