You should not gloat over your brother in the day of his misfortune, nor rejoice over the people of Judah in the day of their destruction, nor boast so much in the day of their trouble.

現在聚集來攻擊你的有許多國的人，就是那些說：『願錫安被戰事蹂躪玷污，願我們親眼見到她遭報』的。

你怎樣因以色列家的地業荒涼而歡喜，我也必怎樣辦你：（西珥山哪，你和全以東都必荒涼）；你就知道我乃是永恆主。

嗤笑窮乏的、是辱沒了造他的主；幸災樂禍的必難免於受罰。

不要誇口說高傲的話，不要口出傲慢之言，因為永恆主是無所不知的上帝，人的行為都被他衡量。

我的骨頭、我都能數算；他們瞪着眼看我，

那逞驕傲輕慢之氣傲慢然說話攻擊義人的、願他們虛假的嘴脣被綁為啞口。

我親眼看到那窺伺我者遭報，我親耳聽見那起來攻擊我、的惡人受罰。

臨近的時候，耶穌看見那城，就為它哭泣

你的仇敵仆倒時，你不要歡喜；他跌倒時，你的心不要快樂；恐怕永恆主看了就不喜悅，而將他的怒氣從你仇敵身上轉過來給你。

我的仇敵啊，你不要因着我而沾沾自喜！我雖然跌倒了，卻要起來；我雖坐在黑暗裏，永恆主卻做我的光。因為我犯罪得罪了永恆主，永恆主的震怒、我必擔受，直到他為我的案件而伸訴，他維護我的權利；那時他必領我出去、到亮光中，我就得見他的義氣。那時我的仇敵、就是那譏笑我說：『永恆主你的上帝在哪裏？』的、一看見，就必被慚愧籠罩着；我必親眼見到她遭報；這時她就被踐踏，如同街上的泥土。

你假手於你的臣僕來辱罵永恆主；你並且說：「我用我眾多的車輛；我上了山嶺的高峰，我到利巴嫩的極深處；我砍伐它高大的香柏樹，上好的松樹；我進到極遠的高處，園地般的森林。

永恆主這麼說：你既拍手頓腳、滿懷輕蔑滿心歡喜以色列地所遭受的，那麼你就看吧，我必伸手攻擊你，將你交於列國做擄掠物；我必從外族之民中剪除你，使你從列邦中滅亡；我必將你滅盡；你就知道我乃是永恆主。

在烏斯地的居民、以東小姐啊，只管歡喜快樂吧！苦杯也必傳遞給你的；你就必喝醉，以致露體。

舌頭也是這樣。舌頭是個小肢體，竟能誇說大事呢。你看，多麼小的火能點𤏲多麼大堆的樹林木料啊！

這些人是好怨尤的埋怨者，順着自己的私慾走，口中說膨脹的話，為着利益而以貌媚人。

那時有說誇大和褻瀆話的口給了獸，也有權柄給了牠、可以行事四十二個月。

主必笑他，因為見他受罰的日子就要來到。

『我若因恨我之人的敗亡而歡喜，因他的遭禍而高興；（

他們發出虛妄之膨脹言論，用肉體的私慾和邪蕩餌誘那些僅僅能逃脫在謬妄中過生活者的人。

求你援救我脫離一切患難；願我親眼看到我仇敵遭報。
