耶和華在埃及地對摩西和亞倫說：「你們要以本月為正月，為一年之首。你們要吩咐以色列全會眾說：本月初十，各人要按着家庭取羔羊，一家一隻羔羊。若一家的人太少，吃不了一隻羔羊，就要按照人數和隔壁的鄰舍共取一隻；你們要按每人的食量來估算羔羊。你們要從綿羊或山羊中取一隻無殘疾、一歲的公羔羊，要把牠留到本月十四日；那日黃昏的時候，以色列全會眾要把羔羊宰了。他們要取一些血，塗在他們吃羔羊的房屋兩邊的門框上和門楣上。當晚要吃羔羊的肉；要用火烤了，與無酵餅和苦菜一起吃。不可吃生的，或用水煮的，要把羔羊連頭帶腿和內臟用火烤了吃。一點也不可留到早晨；若有留到早晨的，要用火燒了。你們要這樣吃羔羊：腰間束帶，腳上穿鞋，手中拿杖，快快地吃。這是耶和華的逾越。因為那夜我要走遍埃及地，把埃及地一切頭生的，無論是人是牲畜，都擊殺了；我要對埃及所有的神明施行審判。我是耶和華。這血要在你們所住的房屋上作記號；我一見這血，就逾越你們。我擊打埃及地的時候，災殃必不臨到你們身上施行毀滅。」

挪亞就遵照耶和華吩咐他的去做。

「因此，亞基帕王啊！我沒有違背那從天上來的異象；

你們若遵行我所命令的，就是我的朋友。

這一切工作都是以色列人照耶和華所吩咐摩西做的。

會幕的帳幕一切的工程就這樣做完了。凡耶和華所吩咐摩西的，以色列人都照樣做了。

挪亞就去做了；凡神吩咐他的，他都照樣去做。

於是，摩西照耶和華所吩咐他的一切話告訴以色列人。
