葡萄樹所結的都不可吃，清酒濃酒都不可喝，一切不潔之物也不可吃。凡我所吩咐的，她都當遵守。」

你們卻給拿細耳人酒喝，囑咐先知說：不要說預言。

不要醉酒，酒能使人放蕩；乃要被聖靈充滿。

因你胃口不清，屢次患病，再不要照常喝水，可以稍微用點酒。

各樣的惡事要禁戒不做。

利慕伊勒啊，君王喝酒，君王喝酒不相宜；王子說濃酒在那裏也不相宜；恐怕喝了就忘記律例，顛倒一切困苦人的是非。

他們卻說：「我們不喝酒；因為我們先祖利甲的兒子約拿達曾吩咐我們說：『你們與你們的子孫永不可喝酒，也不可蓋房、撒種、栽種葡萄園，但一生的年日要住帳棚，使你們的日子在寄居之地得以延長。』凡我們先祖利甲的兒子約拿達所吩咐我們的話，我們都聽從了。我們和我們的妻子兒女一生的年日都不喝酒，

「你們要謹慎，恐怕因貪食、醉酒，並今生的思慮累住你們的心，那日子就如同網羅忽然臨到你們；

施洗的約翰來，不吃餅，不喝酒，你們說他是被鬼附着的。人子來，也吃也喝，你們說他是貪食好酒的人，是稅吏和罪人的朋友。
