When the camp is to move, Aaron and his sons are to go in and take down the shielding curtain and put it over the ark of the covenant law.

When the camp is ready to move, Aaron and his sons must go into the tent. They must take down the curtain that hides the ark where the tablets of the covenant law are kept. They must cover the ark with the curtain.

When the camp is to set out, Aaron and his sons shall go in and take down the veil of the screen and cover the ark of the testimony with it.

“要用细麻线和蓝色、紫色、朱红色的线织成一幅幔子，上面用精致的手工绣上基路伯天使。要把这幅幔子挂在四根包金的皂荚木柱上，木柱上面有金钩，木柱立在四个带凹槽的银底座上面。要把整幅幔子挂在木柱的金钩上，把约柜抬进幔子里。这幔子把圣幕分为两个部分，幔子里面是至圣所，外面是圣所。

犹大旗下的营队率先出发，率领犹大支派的是亚米拿达的儿子拿顺，

吕便营区共十五万一千四百五十人，他们是第二队。随后是会幕和利未人的营区，在其他各营中间。他们各就各位，各归本旗，照安营时的次序出发。

率领他们到犹大的巴拉去接上帝的约柜。这约柜以坐在基路伯天使上面的万军之耶和华的名字命名。他们把上帝的约柜从坐落在山上的亚比拿达家抬出来，放在一辆新造的牛车上，由亚比拿达的两个儿子乌撒和亚希约赶车，亚希约走在约柜前面。大卫和全体以色列人在耶和华面前用琴、瑟、鼓、钹和锣奏乐，尽情歌舞。他们走到拿肯的麦场时，拉车的牛失蹄，乌撒便伸手去扶上帝的约柜。耶和华上帝就向乌撒发怒，因他的不敬而击杀了他。他死在了约柜旁边。大卫因耶和华击杀乌撒而烦恼，就称那地方为毗列斯·乌撒，沿用至今。那天，大卫惧怕耶和华，他说：“耶和华的约柜怎能运到我这里？”

哥辖宗族有暗兰家族、以斯哈家族、希伯仑家族和乌薛家族，其中年龄在一个月以上的男性共有八千六百人，他们负责看守圣所。哥辖宗族的人要在圣幕南面安营，乌薛的儿子以利撒反做首领。他们负责照管约柜、桌子、灯台、两座坛、圣所里面的器具、幔子等一切物品。亚伦祭司的儿子以利亚撒是利未人的最高首领，负责监督在圣所工作的人。

“要用皂荚木做一个柜，长一点一米，宽六十六厘米，高六十六厘米，里外都要包上纯金，要用金子镶柜边。再造四个金环，安在柜的四个脚上，每边两个环。用皂荚木造两根横杠，外面要包上金，然后把横杠穿过柜旁的金环，便于抬柜。横杠穿进环以后，不可再抽出来。把我将要赐给你的两块约版放在柜里。要用纯金造一个施恩座，长一点一米，宽六十六厘米。用纯金在施恩座的两端打造两个基路伯天使，跟施恩座连在一起，一端一个。两个基路伯天使要面对面朝向施恩座，向上展开翅膀，遮盖施恩座。要把施恩座放在柜上面，把我赐给你的约版放在柜里。我就在那里跟你会面，从两个基路伯天使中间的施恩座上，把要传给以色列百姓的一切诫命告诉你。
