But they must not touch the holy things. If they do, they will die. The men of Kohath must carry everything in the tent of meeting.

And when Aaron and his sons have finished covering the sanctuary and all the furnishings of the sanctuary, as the camp sets out, after that the sons of Kohath shall come to carry these, but they must not touch the holy things, lest they die. These are the things of the tent of meeting that the sons of Kohath are to carry.

The camp will be ready to move when Aaron and his sons have finished covering the sanctuary and all the sacred articles. The Kohathites will come and carry these things to the next destination. But they must not touch the sacred objects, or they will die. So these are the things from the Tabernacle that the Kohathites must carry.

The Kohathites will come and carry them, but they are not to touch the holy objects or they will die. These are the transportation duties of the Kohathites regarding the tent of meeting.

These are the things in the tent of meeting that the sons of Kohath are to carry.

And when Aaron and his sons have made an end of covering the sanctuary, and all the furniture of the sanctuary, as the camp is set forward; after that, the sons of Kohath shall come to bear it: but they shall not touch the sanctuary, lest they die. These things are the burden of the sons of Kohath in the tent of meeting.

And when Aaron and his sons have made an end of covering the sanctuary, and all the vessels of the sanctuary, as the camp is to set forward; after that, the sons of Kohath shall come to bear[ it]: but they shall not touch[ any] holy thing, lest they die. These[ things are] the burden of the sons of Kohath in the tabernacle of the congregation.

“ When Aaron and his sons have finished covering the sanctuary and all the furnishings of the sanctuary, when the camp is ready to journey, then the Kohathites will come to carry them; but they must not touch any holy thing, or they will die. These are the responsibilities of the Kohathites with the tent of meeting.

“ When Aaron and his sons have finished covering the sanctuary and all the furniture of the sanctuary, as the camp moves forward; after that, the sons of Kohath shall come to carry it; but they shall not touch the sanctuary, lest they die. The sons of Kohath shall carry these things belonging to the Tent of Meeting.

他們到了拿艮的打禾場的時候，因為牛幾乎絆倒，烏撒就伸手扶住神的約櫃。耶和華的怒氣向烏撒發作；神因這錯誤的舉動，就當場擊殺他，他就死在神的約櫃旁邊。

但是沒有分給哥轄的子孫，因為他們所辦的事是聖所的事，是要用肩頭抬的。

摩西把這律法寫好了，就交給抬耶和華約櫃的利未支派的祭司子孫，和以色列的眾長老。

哥轄人抬著聖物起行；他們到達之前，人已經把帳幕豎立起來。

他們到了基頓禾場的時候，因為牛失蹄絆倒，烏撒就伸手扶住約櫃。於是耶和華向烏撒發怒，因為烏撒伸手把約櫃扶住，所以神把他擊殺，他就在那裡死在神面前。

哥轄家族的領袖是烏薛的兒子以利撒反。他們的職分是管理約櫃、桌子、燈臺、兩座壇，以及他們在聖所內使用的器具、簾子和帳幕裡使用的一切東西。

那些抬耶和華的約櫃的人走了六步，大衛就獻一頭公牛和一隻肥畜為祭。

抬約櫃的祭司站在約旦河中間，直到耶和華吩咐約書亞告訴人民的一切事，就是照著摩西吩咐約書亞的一切事，都辦完了，人民就急忙過去了。

那時大衛說：“神的約櫃，除了利未人以外，沒有人可以抬，因為耶和華揀選了他們抬神的約櫃，並且永遠事奉他。”

利未支派的子孫照著耶和華的話，就是摩西所吩咐的，用肩和槓來抬神的約櫃。

你要在山的周圍給人民定界限，說：‘你們要謹慎，不可上山來，也不可觸摸山腳；凡是觸摸著那山的，必要把他處死。

耶和華因為伯．示麥人偷窺他的約櫃，就擊殺他們；他擊殺了七十人（“七十人”大多數文本都作“五萬零七十人”，少數文本作“七十人”）。眾人因為耶和華用大災擊殺他們，就哀哭起來。

在帳幕前面東邊，就是在會幕前向日出的方向安營的，是摩西、亞倫和亞倫的兒子；他們代替以色列人應盡的職責，看守聖所；外人近前來，必被治死。

你們不是來到那座摸得著的山。那裡有烈火、密雲、幽暗、暴風、號筒的響聲和說話的聲音；那些聽見這聲音的人，都請求神不要再向他們多說話；因為他們擔當不起那命令：“就是走獸挨近這山，也要用石頭把牠打死。”當時，顯出的景象是那麼可怕，連摩西也說：“我非常恐懼戰兢。”你們卻是來到錫安山和永活的神的城，就是天上的耶路撒冷；在那裡有千萬的天使聚集，有名字登記在天上眾長子的教會，有審判眾人的神，有被成全的義人的靈魂，有新約的中保耶穌，還有他所灑的血。這血所傳的信息比亞伯的血所傳的更美。你們要謹慎，不要棄絕那位說話的，因為從前的人棄絕了那位在地上警戒他們的，尚且不能逃罪；何況現在我們背棄那位從天上警戒我們的呢？當時他的聲音震動了地；現在他卻應許說：“下一次，我不但要震動地，還要震動天。”“下一次”這句話，是表明那些被震動的，要像被造之物那樣被除去，好使那些不能震動的可以留存，因此，我們既然領受了不能震動的國，就應該感恩，照著神所喜悅的，用虔誠敬畏的心事奉他；因為我們的神是烈火。

帳幕要起行的時候，利未人要把它拆卸下來；帳幕要支搭的時候，利未人要把它豎立起來；如果有外人走近，必須處死。
