The towns you give the Levites from the land the Israelites possess are to be given in proportion to the inheritance of each tribe: Take many towns from a tribe that has many, but few from one that has few.”

The towns you give the Levites must come from the land the Israelites have as their own. So the number you give from each tribe will depend on the size of that tribe’s share. Take many towns from a tribe that has many towns. But take only a few towns from a tribe that has only a few.”

And as for the cities that you shall give from the possession of the people of Israel, from the larger tribes you shall take many, and from the smaller tribes you shall take few; each, in proportion to the inheritance that it inherits, shall give of its cities to the Levites.”

These towns will come from the property of the people of Israel. The larger tribes will give more towns to the Levites, while the smaller tribes will give fewer. Each tribe will give property in proportion to the size of its land.”

Of the cities that you give from the Israelites’ territory, you should take more from a larger tribe and less from a smaller one. Each tribe is to give some of its cities to the Levites in proportion to the inheritance it receives.”

As for the cities which you shall give them from the possession of the sons of Israel, you shall take more from the larger, and you shall take fewer from the smaller; each shall give some of his cities to the Levites in proportion to his inheritance which he possesses.”

其論利未則曰、願敬虔者得爾烏陵土明、昔在馬撒、爾嘗試之、在米利巴水、爾嘗爭之、彼告父母曰、我未見之、不識兄弟、不顧子女、乃從爾命、而守爾約。彼以爾典章、示雅各後裔、以爾律法、誨以色列族、彼將炷香於爾前、燔祭於爾壇。願耶和華加厥貨財、其所為者悅納之、擊敵之腰使不復起。

我不欲彼豐而爾嗇、乃欲其均、今爾以有餘、補彼不足、則後彼亦以有餘、補爾不足、是之謂均、

以升量其所入、多取者無餘、寡取者無乏、其斂之也、隨其所需。

利未族最著者、就祭司以利亞撒、與嫩之子約書亞、及以色列支派最著者、於迦南地示羅、告之曰耶和華諭摩西以邑郊賜我、及我牲畜。以色列族、由其業中、以邑郊賜利未人、循耶和華命、初掣籤乃哥轄族得邑、其中祭司亞倫之子孫、既為利未人、則掣籤而得在猶大、西面、便雅憫、三支派中、十三邑。哥轄族諸子掣籤而得、在以法蓮及但二支派、馬拿西支派之半者、十邑、革順子孫、掣籤而得、在以薩迦、亞設、納大利、三支派、又在巴山地、馬拿西支派之半者、十三邑。米喇哩族、在流便、伽得、西布倫、三支派、得十二邑。以上所載諸邑與郊、乃以色列族掣籤予利未人、循耶和華所諭摩西之命。○猶大西面二支派、所予之邑、臚列於左、利未支派、哥轄族、亞倫子孫、首掣籤而得邑。乃猶大山地、基列亞巴邑、即希伯崙及其郊。亞巴即亞納父也。惟邑郊之田、與其鄉里、咸歸耶孚尼子迦勒為業。給祭司亞倫子孫者、希伯崙與其郊、為誤殺人者、逋逃之藪、又給立拿與其郊、雅的與其郊、以實提摩與其郊、何倫與其郊、底必與其郊、亞因與其郊、若大與其郊、伯示麥與其郊、斯二支派所給者、共九邑。便雅憫支派給基遍與其郊、基巴與其郊、亞拿突與其郊、亞勒門與其郊、共四邑。於是祭司亞倫所得者、共得十三邑、與其郊。○利未支派哥轄諸子、亦掣籤而得地、在以法蓮支派中、所得者乃以法蓮山之示劍與其郊、為誤殺人者、逋逃之藪、亦得基色與其郊、及先與其郊、伯和倫與其郊、共四邑。在但支派中得利提基與其郊、其庇頓與其郊、亞雅倫與其郊、迦特臨門與其郊、共四邑。在馬拿西支派之半得大訥與其郊、迦特臨門與其郊、共二邑。哥轄族諸子所得者共十邑、與其郊。馬拿西支派之半給利未支派、革順族、巴山地之坷蘭與其郊、為誤殺人者逋逃之藪、又給別提喇與其郊、共二邑。以薩迦支派給基順與其郊、大巴辣與其郊、耶末與其郊、隱干寧與其郊、共四邑。亞設支派給米沙勒與其郊、押頓與其郊、黑甲與其郊、哩合與其郊、共四邑。納大利支派給加利利之基特與其郊、為誤殺人者逋逃之藪、又給哈末多耳與其郊、迦但與其郊、共三邑。革順族循其世系、所得者、共十三邑與其郊。○西布倫支派給利未支派之米喇哩族、約念與其郊、迦大與其郊、丁拿與其郊、拿哈辣與其郊、共四邑。流便支派給庇悉與其郊、雅哈撒與其郊、基底莫與其郊、米法押與其郊、共四邑。伽得支派給基列地之喇末為誤殺人者逋逃之藪、又給馬哈念與其郊、希實本與其郊、牙設與其郊、共四邑。於是利未支派米喇哩族、循其世系、所得者十二邑。以色列族業中、利未支派所得者、共四十八邑、與其郊、邑四周有郊、各邑皆然。
