The towns you give the Levites from the land the Israelites possess are to be given in proportion to the inheritance of each tribe: Take many towns from a tribe that has many, but few from one that has few.”

The towns you give the Levites must come from the land the Israelites have as their own. So the number you give from each tribe will depend on the size of that tribe’s share. Take many towns from a tribe that has many towns. But take only a few towns from a tribe that has only a few.”

And as for the cities that you shall give from the possession of the people of Israel, from the larger tribes you shall take many, and from the smaller tribes you shall take few; each, in proportion to the inheritance that it inherits, shall give of its cities to the Levites.”

These towns will come from the property of the people of Israel. The larger tribes will give more towns to the Levites, while the smaller tribes will give fewer. Each tribe will give property in proportion to the size of its land.”

Of the cities that you give from the Israelites’ territory, you should take more from a larger tribe and less from a smaller one. Each tribe is to give some of its cities to the Levites in proportion to the inheritance it receives.”

As for the cities which you shall give them from the possession of the sons of Israel, you shall take more from the larger, and you shall take fewer from the smaller; each shall give some of his cities to the Levites in proportion to his inheritance which he possesses.”

人数多的多分产业，人数少的少分产业，要按登记的人数分配。

你们要按宗族家系抽签分配土地，人口多的多分，人口少的少分，抽到哪块地就得哪块地。

利未人便照摩西的话去做。那一天，约有三千人被杀。摩西对利未人说：“今天你们已经把自己奉献给耶和华了，因为你们大义灭亲，祂必赐福给你们。”

他们狂暴凶残，该受咒诅！我要使他们分散在雅各的子孙中，散居在以色列各地。

摩西祝福利未支派说：“耶和华啊，求你把土明和乌陵赐给虔诚的利未人，你曾经在玛撒试验他们，在米利巴泉边与他们争论。为了听从你的话，遵守你的约，他们不畏冒犯父母，舍弃弟兄，抛下儿女。他们把你的典章传授给雅各，把你的律法传授给以色列；他们要把香献在你面前，把全牲燔祭献在你的坛上。耶和华啊，求你赐他们力量，悦纳他们的工作，击碎仇敌的腰杆，使敌人一蹶不振。”

这不是说要别人脱离困境，要你们陷入困境，乃是要均平。现在你们这些富足的人可以帮补那些有需要的人，以便你们有需要的时候，那些富足的人也可以帮补你们，这样才均平。

后来，他们用俄梅珥量的时候，就发现多拾的没有剩余，少拾的也没有缺乏，刚好是每人所需要的量。

利未人的众族长到迦南的示罗见祭司以利亚撒、嫩的儿子约书亚和以色列各支派的首领，说：“耶和华借着摩西曾吩咐你们把一些城邑分给我们住，让我们可以在城郊牧养牲畜。”
