不過基督已經來到，做了那些已經發生的美善之事的大祭司，經過了那更大、更完美的會幕。那會幕不是人手所造的；就是說，不屬於這被造的世界。他也沒有藉著山羊和牛犢的血，而是藉著他自己的血，一次性地進入聖所，成就了永恆的救贖。

要知道，我們領受了真理的知識以後，如果還故意犯罪，就不再有贖罪的祭物被保留下來；只保留了對審判的可怕等待，和那將要吞滅敵對者的嫉恨之火。任何拒絕摩西律法的人，憑兩個或三個見證人的見證，就得不到憐憫而死，何況一個人踐踏了神的兒子，把那使自己成聖的立約之血看做是俗物，又侮辱了恩典的聖靈，你們想想，這個人難道不該受更厲害的懲罰嗎？因為我們認識曾說過「報應在我，我將回報」的那一位，他又說過「主要審判自己的子民。」

保羅對百夫長和士兵們說：「這些人如果不留在船上，你們就不能獲救。」

然而，我們不是退縮以致滅亡的人，而是有信仰以致保全靈魂的人。

原來，如果有人蒙過一次光照、嘗過屬天恩賜的滋味、曾經與聖靈有份、嘗過神美善的話語和將要來臨之世代的權能，卻背棄了真理，就不可能再次更新以至於悔改了。因為他們親自把神的兒子再次釘上十字架，公然羞辱他。要知道，當一塊田地吸收了常常降在它上面的雨水，並且為種地的人長出有用菜蔬時，它就享受從神而來的祝福；但如果它長出荊棘和蒺藜，就沒有用處了，很快就要被詛咒，它的結局就是被焚燒。

巴拿巴到了，看見神的恩典就感到歡喜，鼓勵大家要立定心志，繼續靠主，

因為我們如果把那起初的確信，堅定地持守到底，我們就成為基督的同伴了。

為此，基督做了新約的中保，藉著死贖清了人在第一個約之下的過犯，好使那些蒙召的人可以得到所應許的永恆繼業。要知道，遺囑在哪裡生效，立遺囑之人的死亡就必須得到證實。事實上，人死了，遺囑才能確立，因為立遺囑之人活著的時候，遺囑絕對不能生效。

你們當住在我裡面，我就住在你們裡面。枝條如果不留在葡萄樹上，就不能由自己結出果子；照樣，你們如果不住在我裡面，你們也是如此。「我就是葡萄樹，你們是枝條。那住在我裡面、我也在他裡面的，他才結出很多果子，因為沒有我，你們什麼也不能做。一個人如果不住在我裡面，就像枝條被丟在外面枯乾了，然後被收集扔進火裡焚燒。
