The assembly must protect the one accused of murder from the avenger of blood and send the accused back to the city of refuge to which they fled. The accused must stay there until the death of the high priest, who was anointed with the holy oil.

The court must provide a safe place for the person accused of murder. It must keep the one accused of murder safe from those who want to kill them. The court must send the accused person back to the city they ran to for safety. The accused person must stay there until the high priest dies. That priest has been anointed with holy oil.

And the congregation shall rescue the manslayer from the hand of the avenger of blood, and the congregation shall restore him to his city of refuge to which he had fled, and he shall live in it until the death of the high priest who was anointed with the holy oil.

The community must protect the slayer from the avenger and must escort the slayer back to live in the city of refuge to which he fled. There he must remain until the death of the high priest, who was anointed with the sacred oil.

或是受膏的祭司犯了罪，使百姓陷在罪裏，他就當為自己所犯的罪，把沒有殘疾的公牛犢獻給耶和華為贖罪祭。

「在弟兄中作大祭司的，頭上倒了膏油，承接聖職，穿了聖衣，不可蓬頭散髮，也不可撕裂衣服；

所以，弟兄們，既然我們靠着耶穌的血得以坦然進入至聖所，是藉着他給我們開了一條又新又活的路，從幔子經過，這幔子就是他的身體。既然我們有一位偉大祭司治理上帝的家，那麼，我們該用誠心和充足的信心，同已蒙潔淨、無虧的良心，和清水洗淨了的身體來親近上帝。

如今卻蒙上帝的恩典，藉着在基督耶穌裏的救贖，就白白地得稱為義。上帝設立耶穌作贖罪祭，是憑耶穌的血，藉着信，要顯明上帝的義；因為他用忍耐的心寬容人先前所犯的罪，好使今時顯明他的義，讓人知道他自己為義，也稱信耶穌的人為義。

他把膏油倒在亞倫的頭上膏他，使他成為聖。

他不用山羊和牛犢的血，而是用自己的血，只一次進入至聖所就獲得了永遠的贖罪。若山羊和公牛的血，以及母牛犢的灰，灑在不潔的人身上，尚且使人成聖，身體潔淨，何況基督的血，他藉着永遠的靈把自己無瑕疵地獻給上帝，更能洗淨我們的良心，除去致死的行為，好事奉那位永生的上帝。為此，基督作了新約的中保；因為他的死，贖了人在第一個約之時所犯的罪過，使蒙召的人能得着所應許永遠的產業。

所以，凡靠着他進到上帝面前的人，他都能拯救到底，因為他長遠活着為他們祈求。這樣一位聖潔、無邪惡、無玷污、遠離罪人、高過諸天的大祭司，對我們是最合適的；他不像那些大祭司，每日必須先為自己的罪，後為百姓的罪獻祭，因為他只一次將自己獻上就把這事成全了。律法所立的大祭司本是有弱點的人，但在律法以後，上帝以起誓的話立了兒子為大祭司，成為完全，直到永遠。

既在十字架上消滅了冤仇，就藉這十字架使雙方歸為一體，與上帝和好，並且來傳和平的福音給你們遠處的人，也傳和平給那些近處的人，因為我們雙方藉着他，在同一位聖靈裏得以進到父面前。

因為誤殺人的應該住在逃城裏，直到大祭司去世。大祭司去世以後，誤殺人的才可以回到他所得為業之地。

既然我們有一位偉大、進入高天的大祭司，就是耶穌－上帝的兒子，我們應當持定所宣認的道。。因為我們的大祭司並非不能體恤我們的軟弱；他也在各方面受過試探，與我們一樣，只是他沒有犯罪。所以，我們只管坦然無懼地來到施恩的寶座前，為要得憐憫，蒙恩惠，作及時的幫助。
