Command the children of Israel, that they give unto the Levites of the inheritance of their possession cities to dwell in; and ye shall give[ also] unto the Levites suburbs for the cities round about them.

“ Command the Israelites to give the Levites towns to live in from the inheritance the Israelites will possess. And give them pasturelands around the towns.

“ Command the Israelites to give the Levites towns to live in. The towns must come from the shares of land the people will have as their own. Also give the Levites the grasslands around the towns.

“ Command the people of Israel to give to the Levites some of the inheritance of their possession as cities for them to dwell in. And you shall give to the Levites pasturelands around the cities.

“ Command the people of Israel to give to the Levites from their property certain towns to live in, along with the surrounding pasturelands.

“ Command the Israelites to give cities out of their hereditary property for the Levites to live in and pastureland around the cities.

“ Command the sons of Israel that they give to the Levites from the inheritance of their possession cities to live in; and you shall give to the Levites pasture lands around the cities.

“ Command the children of Israel that they give the Levites cities to dwell in from the inheritance of their possession, and you shall also give the Levites common-land around the cities.

Command the children of Israel, that they give unto the Levites of the inheritance of their possession cities to dwell in; and suburbs for the cities round about them shall ye give unto the Levites.

“ Command the Israelites to give cities out of their hereditary property for the Levites to live in and pastureland around the cities.

“ Instruct the Israelites to give the Levites towns to live in from the inheritance the Israelites will possess. You must also give the Levites grazing land around the towns.

“ Command the children of Israel to give to the Levites cities to dwell in out of their inheritance. You shall give pasture lands for the cities around them to the Levites.

For Moses had given the inheritance of two tribes and an half tribe on the other side Jordan: but unto the Levites he gave none inheritance among them.For the children of Joseph were two tribes, Manasseh and Ephraim: therefore they gave no part unto the Levites in the land, save cities to dwell[ in], with their suburbs for their cattle and for their substance.

And by the border of Judah, from the east side unto the west side, shall be the offering which ye shall offer of five and twenty thousand[ reeds in] breadth, and[ in] length as one of the[ other] parts, from the east side unto the west side: and the sanctuary shall be in the midst of it.

Moreover, when ye shall divide by lot the land for inheritance, ye shall offer an oblation unto the LORD, an holy portion of the land: the length[ shall be] the length of five and twenty thousand[ reeds], and the breadth[ shall be] ten thousand. This[ shall be] holy in all the borders thereof round about.Of this there shall be for the sanctuary five hundred[ in length], with five hundred[ in breadth], square round about; and fifty cubits round about for the suburbs thereof.And of this measure shalt thou measure the length of five and twenty thousand, and the breadth of ten thousand: and in it shall be the sanctuary[ and] the most holy[ place].The holy[ portion] of the land shall be for the priests the ministers of the sanctuary, which shall come near to minister unto the LORD: and it shall be a place for their houses, and an holy place for the sanctuary.And the five and twenty thousand of length, and the ten thousand of breadth, shall also the Levites, the ministers of the house, have for themselves, for a possession for twenty chambers.And ye shall appoint the possession of the city five thousand broad, and five and twenty thousand long, over against the oblation of the holy[ portion]: it shall be for the whole house of Israel.And a[ portion shall be] for the prince on the one side and on the other side of the oblation of the holy[ portion], and of the possession of the city, before the oblation of the holy[ portion], and before the possession of the city, from the west side westward, and from the east side eastward: and the length[ shall be] over against one of the portions, from the west border unto the east border.In the land shall be his possession in Israel: and my princes shall no more oppress my people; and[ the rest of] the land shall they give to the house of Israel according to their tribes.

Or saith he[ it] altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt,[ this] is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope.If we have sown unto you spiritual things,[ is it] a great thing if we shall reap your carnal things?If others be partakers of[ this] power over you,[ are] not we rather? Nevertheless we have not used this power; but suffer all things, lest we should hinder the gospel of Christ.Do ye not know that they which minister about holy things live[ of the things] of the temple? and they which wait at the altar are partakers with the altar?Even so hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel.

Moreover from the possession of the Levites, and from the possession of the city,[ being] in the midst[ of that] which is the prince’s, between the border of Judah and the border of Benjamin, shall be for the prince.

Notwithstanding the cities of the Levites,[ and] the houses of the cities of their possession, may the Levites redeem at any time.And if a man purchase of the Levites, then the house that was sold, and the city of his possession, shall go out in[ the year of] jubile: for the houses of the cities of the Levites[ are] their possession among the children of Israel.But the field of the suburbs of their cities may not be sold; for it[ is] their perpetual possession.

And they spake unto them at Shiloh in the land of Canaan, saying, The LORD commanded by the hand of Moses to give us cities to dwell in, with the suburbs thereof for our cattle.And the children of Israel gave unto the Levites out of their inheritance, at the commandment of the LORD, these cities and their suburbs.And the lot came out for the families of the Kohathites: and the children of Aaron the priest,[ which were] of the Levites, had by lot out of the tribe of Judah, and out of the tribe of Simeon, and out of the tribe of Benjamin, thirteen cities.And the rest of the children of Kohath[ had] by lot out of the families of the tribe of Ephraim, and out of the tribe of Dan, and out of the half tribe of Manasseh, ten cities.And the children of Gershon[ had] by lot out of the families of the tribe of Issachar, and out of the tribe of Asher, and out of the tribe of Naphtali, and out of the half tribe of Manasseh in Bashan, thirteen cities.The children of Merari by their families[ had] out of the tribe of Reuben, and out of the tribe of Gad, and out of the tribe of Zebulun, twelve cities.And the children of Israel gave by lot unto the Levites these cities with their suburbs, as the LORD commanded by the hand of Moses.And they gave out of the tribe of the children of Judah, and out of the tribe of the children of Simeon, these cities which are[ here] mentioned by name,Which the children of Aaron,[ being] of the families of the Kohathites,[ who were] of the children of Levi, had: for theirs was the first lot.And they gave them the city of Arba the father of Anak, which[ city is] Hebron, in the hill[ country] of Judah, with the suburbs thereof round about it.But the fields of the city, and the villages thereof, gave they to Caleb the son of Jephunneh for his possession.Thus they gave to the children of Aaron the priest Hebron with her suburbs,[ to be] a city of refuge for the slayer; and Libnah with her suburbs,And Jattir with her suburbs, and Eshtemoa with her suburbs,And Holon with her suburbs, and Debir with her suburbs,And Ain with her suburbs, and Juttah with her suburbs,[ and] Bethshemesh with her suburbs; nine cities out of those two tribes.And out of the tribe of Benjamin, Gibeon with her suburbs, Geba with her suburbs,Anathoth with her suburbs, and Almon with her suburbs; four cities.All the cities of the children of Aaron, the priests,[ were] thirteen cities with their suburbs.And the families of the children of Kohath, the Levites which remained of the children of Kohath, even they had the cities of their lot out of the tribe of Ephraim.For they gave them Shechem with her suburbs in mount Ephraim,[ to be] a city of refuge for the slayer; and Gezer with her suburbs,And Kibzaim with her suburbs, and Bethhoron with her suburbs; four cities.And out of the tribe of Dan, Eltekeh with her suburbs, Gibbethon with her suburbs,Aijalon with her suburbs, Gathrimmon with her suburbs; four cities.And out of the half tribe of Manasseh, Tanach with her suburbs, and Gathrimmon with her suburbs; two cities.All the cities[ were] ten with their suburbs for the families of the children of Kohath that remained.And unto the children of Gershon, of the families of the Levites, out of the[ other] half tribe of Manasseh[ they gave] Golan in Bashan with her suburbs,[ to be] a city of refuge for the slayer; and Beeshterah with her suburbs; two cities.And out of the tribe of Issachar, Kishon with her suburbs, Dabareh with her suburbs,Jarmuth with her suburbs, Engannim with her suburbs; four cities.And out of the tribe of Asher, Mishal with her suburbs, Abdon with her suburbs,Helkath with her suburbs, and Rehob with her suburbs; four cities.And out of the tribe of Naphtali, Kedesh in Galilee with her suburbs,[ to be] a city of refuge for the slayer; and Hammothdor with her suburbs, and Kartan with her suburbs; three cities.All the cities of the Gershonites according to their families[ were] thirteen cities with their suburbs.And unto the families of the children of Merari, the rest of the Levites, out of the tribe of Zebulun, Jokneam with her suburbs, and Kartah with her suburbs,Dimnah with her suburbs, Nahalal with her suburbs; four cities.And out of the tribe of Reuben, Bezer with her suburbs, and Jahazah with her suburbs,Kedemoth with her suburbs, and Mephaath with her suburbs; four cities.And out of the tribe of Gad, Ramoth in Gilead with her suburbs,[ to be] a city of refuge for the slayer; and Mahanaim with her suburbs,Heshbon with her suburbs, Jazer with her suburbs; four cities in all.So all the cities for the children of Merari by their families, which were remaining of the families of the Levites, were[ by] their lot twelve cities.All the cities of the Levites within the possession of the children of Israel[ were] forty and eight cities with their suburbs.These cities were every one with their suburbs round about them: thus[ were] all these cities.
