“‘ If anyone strikes someone a fatal blow with an iron object, that person is a murderer; the murderer is to be put to death.

若以鐵器擊人至死、是為故殺、故殺人者殺毋赦、

若以鐵器擊人至死、是誠殺人者、必死毋赦、

若以鐵器擊人致死、是為故殺人者、必治之死、

“‘ Suppose a person uses an iron object to hit and kill someone. Then that person is a murderer and must be put to death.

“ But if he struck him down with an iron object, so that he died, he is a murderer. The murderer shall be put to death.

“ But if someone strikes and kills another person with a piece of iron, it is murder, and the murderer must be executed.

“ If anyone strikes a person with an iron object and death results, he is a murderer; the murderer must be put to death.

‘ But if he struck him with an iron object, so that he died, he is a murderer; the murderer must be put to death.

‘ But if he strikes him with an iron implement, so that he dies, he is a murderer; the murderer shall surely be put to death.

But if he smote him with an instrument of iron, so that he died, he is a murderer: the murderer shall surely be put to death.

Bloodshed pollutes the land, and atonement cannot be made for the land on which blood has been shed, except by the blood of the one who shed it.

“‘ But if without enmity someone suddenly pushes another or throws something at them unintentionallyor, without seeing them, drops on them a stone heavy enough to kill them, and they die, then since that other person was not an enemy and no harm was intended,the assembly must judge between the accused and the avenger of blood according to these regulations.

“ Anyone who strikes a person with a fatal blow is to be put to death.However, if it is not done intentionally, but God lets it happen, they are to flee to a place I will designate.But if anyone schemes and kills someone deliberately, that person is to be taken from my altar and put to death.

And for your lifeblood I will surely demand an accounting. I will demand an accounting from every animal. And from each human being, too, I will demand an accounting for the life of another human being.“ Whoever sheds human blood, by humans shall their blood be shed; for in the image of God has God made mankind.

But if out of hate someone lies in wait, assaults and kills a neighbor, and then flees to one of these cities,the killer shall be sent for by the town elders, be brought back from the city, and be handed over to the avenger of blood to die.Show no pity. You must purge from Israel the guilt of shedding innocent blood, so that it may go well with you.
