“ But if he hits someone with an iron tool so that he dies, he is a murderer. The murderer must surely be put to death.

若以鐵器擊人至死、是為故殺、故殺人者殺毋赦、

若以鐵器擊人至死、是誠殺人者、必死毋赦、

若以鐵器擊人致死、是為故殺人者、必治之死、

“‘ If anyone strikes someone a fatal blow with an iron object, that person is a murderer; the murderer is to be put to death.

“‘ Suppose a person uses an iron object to hit and kill someone. Then that person is a murderer and must be put to death.

“ But if he struck him down with an iron object, so that he died, he is a murderer. The murderer shall be put to death.

“ Whoever strikes someone so that he dies must surely be put to death.But if he does not do it with premeditation, but it happens by accident, then I will appoint for you a place where he may flee.But if a man willfully attacks his neighbor to kill him cunningly, you will take him even from my altar that he may die.

For your lifeblood I will surely exact punishment, from every living creature I will exact punishment. From each person I will exact punishment for the life of the individual since the man was his relative.“ Whoever sheds human blood, by other humans must his blood be shed; for in God’s image God has made humankind.”

However, suppose a person hates someone else and stalks him, attacks him, kills him, and then flees to one of these cities.The elders of his own city must send for him and remove him from there to deliver him over to the blood avenger to die.You must not pity him, but purge out the blood of the innocent from Israel, so that it may go well with you.
