Why do you discourage the Israelites from crossing over into the land the Lord has given them?

The Lord has given the land of Canaan to the Israelites. So why would you want to keep them from going over into it?

Why will you discourage the heart of the people of Israel from going over into the land that the Lord has given them?

“ Why do you want to discourage the rest of the people of Israel from going across to the land the Lord has given them?

Why are you discouraging the Israelites from crossing into the land the LORD has given them?

And why are you discouraging the sons of Israel from crossing over into the land which the Lord has given them?

Now why will you discourage the heart of the children of Israel from going over into the land which the Lord has given them?

他们上到以实各谷，窥探了那地之后，竟然使以色列人灰心，不愿进入耶和华所赐给他们的地。

他们告诉摩西说：“我们到了你派我们去的那地，果然是流奶与蜜之地；这就是那地的果子。但是住那地的百姓很强悍，城镇又大又坚固，我们也在那里看见了亚衲族人。亚玛力人住在尼革夫；赫人、耶布斯人和亚摩利人住在山区；迦南人住在沿海一带和约旦河旁。”迦勒在摩西面前安抚百姓，说：“我们立刻上去得那地吧！我们必能征服它。”但那些和他同去的人却说：“我们不能上去攻打那些百姓，因为他们比我们强大。”于是探子中有人向以色列人散布有关所窥探之地的谣言，说：“我们所走过、所窥探之地是吞没居民之地，并且我们在那里所看见的百姓都身材高大。我们在那里看见巨人，就是巨人中的亚衲族人。我们在自己眼中像蚱蜢一样，而在他们眼中，我们也确是这样。”全会众大声喧嚷，那夜百姓哭号。以色列众人向摩西和亚伦发怨言，全会众对他们说：“我们宁愿死在埃及地，宁愿死在这旷野！耶和华为什么要把我们领到那地，让我们倒在刀下呢？我们的妻子和孩子必成为掳物。我们回埃及去岂不更好吗？”他们彼此说：“我们不如选一个领袖，回埃及去吧！”

于是保罗回答：“你们为什么这样痛哭，使我心碎呢？我为主耶稣的名，不但被人捆绑，就是死在耶路撒冷也是愿意的。”

我们上哪里去呢？我们的弟兄使我们胆战心惊，说那里的百姓比我们又大又高，那里的城镇又大，城墙又坚固，如天一样高，并且我们在那里看见亚衲族人。’

他们从何珥山起行，绕过以东地往红海那条路走。在路上，百姓心中烦躁。
