Why do you discourage the Israelites from crossing over into the land the Lord has given them?

The Lord has given the land of Canaan to the Israelites. So why would you want to keep them from going over into it?

Why will you discourage the heart of the people of Israel from going over into the land that the Lord has given them?

“ Why do you want to discourage the rest of the people of Israel from going across to the land the Lord has given them?

Why are you discouraging the Israelites from crossing into the land the LORD has given them?

And why are you discouraging the sons of Israel from crossing over into the land which the Lord has given them?

Now why will you discourage the heart of the children of Israel from going over into the land which the Lord has given them?

And wherefore discourage ye the heart of the children of Israel from going over into the land which Jehovah hath given them?

When they went up to the Eshcol Valley and saw the land, they frustrated the intent of the Israelites so that they did not enter the land that the LORD had given them.

They told Moses,“ We went to the land where you sent us. It is indeed flowing with milk and honey, and this is its fruit.But the inhabitants are strong, and the cities are fortified and very large. Moreover we saw the descendants of Anak there.The Amalekites live in the land of the Negev; the Hittites, Jebusites, and Amorites live in the hill country; and the Canaanites live by the sea and along the banks of the Jordan.”Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses, saying,“ Let us go up and occupy it, for we are well able to conquer it.”But the men who had gone up with him said,“ We are not able to go up against these people, because they are stronger than we are!”Then they presented the Israelites with a discouraging report of the land they had investigated, saying,“ The land that we passed through to investigate is a land that devours its inhabitants. All the people we saw there are of great stature.We even saw the Nephilim there( the descendants of Anak came from the Nephilim), and we seemed liked grasshoppers both to ourselves and to them.”Then all the community raised a loud cry, and the people wept that night.And all the Israelites murmured against Moses and Aaron, and the whole congregation said to them,“ If only we had died in the land of Egypt, or if only we had perished in this wilderness!Why has the LORD brought us into this land only to be killed by the sword, that our wives and our children should become plunder? Wouldn’t it be better for us to return to Egypt?”So they said to one another,“ Let’s appoint a leader and return to Egypt.”

Then Paul replied,“ What are you doing, weeping and breaking my heart? For I am ready not only to be tied up, but even to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.”

What is going to happen to us? Our brothers have drained away our courage by describing people who are more numerous and taller than we are, and great cities whose defenses appear to be as high as heaven itself! Moreover, they said they saw Anakites there.”

Then they traveled from Mount Hor by the road to the Red Sea, to go around the land of Edom, but the people became impatient along the way.
