吕便、迦得二支派已经和玛拿西另外半个支派得了产业，就是耶和华的仆人摩西在约旦河东所赐给他们的：

在那些日子，耶和华开始削弱以色列。哈薛在以色列各边界攻击他们，就是约旦河东基列全地，从靠近亚嫩谷边的亚罗珥起，包括基列和巴珊，就是迦得人、吕便人、玛拿西人的地。

你们的妻子、孩子和牲畜可以留在约旦河东、摩西所给你们的地。但你们中间所有大能的勇士都要带着兵器，在你们的弟兄前面过去，你们要帮助他们。等到耶和华使你们的弟兄和你们一样得享平静，并且得着耶和华—你们上帝所赐他们为业之地的时候，你们才可以回到你们所得之地，承受为业，就是耶和华的仆人摩西在约旦河东、向日出的方向所给你们的地。”

但他们得罪了他们列祖的上帝，随从当地百姓的神明而行淫，这百姓就是上帝在他们面前所除灭的。因此，以色列的上帝激发亚述王普勒，就是亚述王提革拉‧毗列色的心，他掳掠了吕便人、迦得人、玛拿西半支派的人，把他们带到哈腊、哈博、哈拉与歌散河边，直到今日。

他们也把亚伯兰的侄儿罗得和罗得的财物都掳掠去了。当时罗得住在所多玛。

我们自己必带着兵器，在耶和华面前渡过去，进入迦南地，好使我们在约旦河这边得到我们的产业。”摩西把亚摩利王西宏的国和巴珊王噩的国，就是他们的国土和周围的城镇，都给了迦得子孙和吕便子孙，以及约瑟的儿子玛拿西半个支派。

在以色列王比加的日子，亚述王提革拉‧毗列色来夺取以云、亚伯‧伯‧玛迦、亚挪、基低斯、夏琐、基列、加利利和拿弗他利全地，把这些地方的居民都掳到亚述去了。

起初很快得来的产业，终久却不是福。

这些是以色列人在约旦河东，向日出的方向，从亚嫩谷直到黑门山，以及东边亚拉巴的整个地区所击杀的王和所得的地：有住希实本的亚摩利王西宏，他统治的地从亚嫩谷边的亚罗珥起，包括谷中之城和基列的一半，直到亚扪人边界的雅博河，以及从东边的亚拉巴，直到基尼烈海，又向东通过伯‧耶施末的路，直到亚拉巴的海，就是盐海，再往南直到毗斯迦山斜坡的山脚。又有巴珊王噩，他是利乏音人所剩下的，住在亚斯她录和以得来。他统治的地是黑门山、撒迦、巴珊全地，直到基述人和玛迦人的边界，以及基列的一半，直到希实本王西宏的边界。这两个王是耶和华的仆人摩西和以色列人所击杀的。耶和华的仆人摩西把他们的地赐给吕便人、迦得人和玛拿西半支派的人为业。

罗得举目，看见约旦河整个平原，直到琐珥，都是水源充足之地。在耶和华未毁灭所多玛、蛾摩拉以前，那地好像耶和华的园子，又像埃及地。于是罗得选择了约旦河整个平原。罗得往东迁移，他们就彼此分开了。亚伯兰住在迦南地；罗得住在平原的城镇，他渐渐迁移帐棚，直到所多玛。

这两个半支派已经在耶利哥对面，约旦河东边，向日出的方向承受了产业。”
