We won’t receive any share with them on the west side of the Jordan River. We’ve already received our share here on the east side.”

For we will not inherit with them on the other side of the Jordan and beyond, because our inheritance has come to us on this side of the Jordan to the east.”

But we do not claim any of the land on the other side of the Jordan. We would rather live here on the east side and accept this as our grant of land.”

With whom the Reubenites and the Gadites have received their inheritance, which Moses gave them, beyond Jordan eastward,[ even] as Moses the servant of the LORD gave them;

In those days the LORD began to cut Israel short: and Hazael smote them in all the coasts of Israel;From Jordan eastward, all the land of Gilead, the Gadites, and the Reubenites, and the Manassites, from Aroer, which[ is] by the river Arnon, even Gilead and Bashan.

Your wives, your little ones, and your cattle, shall remain in the land which Moses gave you on this side Jordan; but ye shall pass before your brethren armed, all the mighty men of valour, and help them;Until the LORD have given your brethren rest, as[ he hath given] you, and they also have possessed the land which the LORD your God giveth them: then ye shall return unto the land of your possession, and enjoy it, which Moses the LORD’S servant gave you on this side Jordan toward the sunrising.

And they transgressed against the God of their fathers, and went a whoring after the gods of the people of the land, whom God destroyed before them.And the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul king of Assyria, and the spirit of Tilgathpilneser king of Assyria, and he carried them away, even the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh, and brought them unto Halah, and Habor, and Hara, and to the river Gozan, unto this day.

And they took Lot, Abram’s brother’s son, who dwelt in Sodom, and his goods, and departed.

We will pass over armed before the LORD into the land of Canaan, that the possession of our inheritance on this side Jordan[ may be] ours.And Moses gave unto them,[ even] to the children of Gad, and to the children of Reuben, and unto half the tribe of Manasseh the son of Joseph, the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites, and the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, the land, with the cities thereof in the coasts,[ even] the cities of the country round about.

In the days of Pekah king of Israel came Tiglathpileser king of Assyria, and took Ijon, and Abelbethmaachah, and Janoah, and Kedesh, and Hazor, and Gilead, and Galilee, all the land of Naphtali, and carried them captive to Assyria.

An inheritance[ may be] gotten hastily at the beginning; but the end thereof shall not be blessed.

Now these[ are] the kings of the land, which the children of Israel smote, and possessed their land on the other side Jordan toward the rising of the sun, from the river Arnon unto mount Hermon, and all the plain on the east:Sihon king of the Amorites, who dwelt in Heshbon,[ and] ruled from Aroer, which[ is] upon the bank of the river Arnon, and from the middle of the river, and from half Gilead, even unto the river Jabbok,[ which is] the border of the children of Ammon;And from the plain to the sea of Chinneroth on the east, and unto the sea of the plain,[ even] the salt sea on the east, the way to Bethjeshimoth; and from the south, under Ashdothpisgah:And the coast of Og king of Bashan,[ which was] of the remnant of the giants, that dwelt at Ashtaroth and at Edrei,And reigned in mount Hermon, and in Salcah, and in all Bashan, unto the border of the Geshurites and the Maachathites, and half Gilead, the border of Sihon king of Heshbon.Them did Moses the servant of the LORD and the children of Israel smite: and Moses the servant of the LORD gave it[ for] a possession unto the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh.

And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of Jordan, that it[ was] well watered every where, before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah,[ even] as the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt, as thou comest unto Zoar.Then Lot chose him all the plain of Jordan; and Lot journeyed east: and they separated themselves the one from the other.Abram dwelled in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwelled in the cities of the plain, and pitched[ his] tent toward Sodom.

The two tribes and the half tribe have received their inheritance on this side Jordan[ near] Jericho eastward, toward the sunrising.
