在那些日子，耶和華開始削弱以色列，哈薛在以色列各處的邊境攻擊他們：從約旦河以東，基列的全地，迦得人、流本人和瑪拿西人之地，從靠近亞嫩河的亞羅珥起，至基列和巴珊。

你們的妻子、孩子和牲畜，都可以留在約旦河東邊、摩西賜給你們的地上；但你們所有英勇的戰士，都要拿起武器，在你們的兄弟前面過河去，幫助他們；等到耶和華使你們的兄弟可以和你們一樣安居，同樣得著耶和華你們的神要賜給他們作產業的地，你們才可以回到你們所得的地，以它作你們的產業，就是耶和華的僕人摩西在約旦河東邊日出之地賜給你們的地方。”

他們背棄了他們列祖的神，隨從當地民族的神行邪淫；神曾從他們面前消滅了這些民族。因此，以色列的神激動了亞述王普勒的心，就是亞述王提革拉．毘尼色的心，他就把流本支派、迦得支派和瑪拿西半個支派的人擄到哈臘、哈博和哈拉，以及歌散河邊，他們的後裔直到今日還在那裡。

連亞伯蘭的姪兒羅得和羅得的財物也帶走了。當時，羅得住在所多瑪。

我們要武裝起來，在耶和華面前過河，到迦南地去；只是約旦河這邊的地方，要歸我們作產業。”於是摩西把亞摩利王西宏的國，和巴珊王噩的國，連那地，和境內城市，以及那地周圍的城市，都給了迦得的子孫、流本的子孫和約瑟的兒子瑪拿西的半個支派。

以色列王比加在位的日子，亞述王提革拉．毗列色前來，攻取了以雲、亞伯．伯．瑪迦、亞挪、基低斯、夏瑣、基列、加利利和拿弗他利全地，把居民擄到亞述去。

起初迅速得來的產業，最後卻不是福氣。

以色列人在約旦河東向日出之地擊殺了那地的兩個王，佔領了他們的地，就是從亞嫩谷直到黑門山，和東邊的亞拉巴全境。這兩個王，一個是住在希實本的亞摩利人的王西宏；他管轄的地區，是從亞嫩谷旁的亞羅珥起，包括山谷中部和基列的一半，直到雅博河，就是亞捫人的境界；東邊有亞拉巴，上至基尼烈海，下至亞拉巴海，就是鹽海，東邊是往伯．耶西末的路；南邊直到毗斯迦的山麓。另一個是巴珊王噩（按照《馬索拉文本》，“巴珊王噩”作“巴珊王噩的境界”；現參照《七十士譯本》翻譯），他是利乏音人的餘民，住在亞斯他錄和以得來；他管轄的地區，是黑門山、撒迦、巴珊全地，直到基述人和瑪迦人的境界，還有基列的一半，直到希實本王西宏的境界。耶和華的僕人摩西和以色列人把這兩個王擊殺了。耶和華的僕人摩西把地分給流本人、迦得人和瑪拿西半個支派的人作產業。

羅得舉目，看見約旦河整個平原，直到瑣珥，都有水灌溉；在耶和華毀滅所多瑪和蛾摩拉之前，這地好像耶和華的園子，也像埃及地一樣。羅得選擇了約旦河整個平原，於是向東移動，他們就彼此分開了。亞伯蘭住在迦南地；羅得住在平原的城市中，漸漸挪移帳棚，直到所多瑪。

這兩個半支派已經在耶利哥對面，約旦河東岸，向日出之地得了產業。”
