我儕必持器械、奮勇為以色列人前導、引至其所、我儕之妻與幼稚、可居於堅城、免為斯地之居民擾害、

But we will arm ourselves for battle and go ahead of the Israelites until we have brought them to their place. Meanwhile our women and children will live in fortified cities, for protection from the inhabitants of the land.

But we will prepare ourselves for battle. We’re even ready to go ahead of the Israelites. We’ll march out with them until we’ve brought them to their place. While we’re gone, our women and children will live in cities that have high walls around them. That will keep them safe from the people living in this land.

but we will take up arms, ready to go before the people of Israel, until we have brought them to their place. And our little ones shall live in the fortified cities because of the inhabitants of the land.

流本人、迦得人和瑪拿西半個支派的人，都照著摩西吩咐他們的，拿起武器，在以色列人前面過河去了。他們約有四萬人，都裝備好，預備打仗，在耶和華面前走過去，來到耶利哥的平原，等候作戰。

“那時，我吩咐你們：‘耶和華你們的神，已經把這地賜給你們作產業了；你們所有的戰士，都要預備好，在你們的兄弟以色列人面前過河去。只有你們的妻子、小孩子和牲畜，可以留在我賜給你們的城裡。直到耶和華使你們的兄弟，像你們一樣得了安身的地方；他們也佔領了耶和華你們的神在約旦河西賜給他們的地，然後你們各人才可以回到我賜給你們作產業的地去。’

對他們說：“迦得的子孫和流本的子孫，所有武裝起來，在耶和華面前預備去作戰的人，如果與你們一同過約旦河，那地在你們面前被征服了，你們就要把基列地給他們作產業。他們若是不武裝起來，與你們一同過去，他們就要在迦南地在你們中間同得產業。”迦得的子孫和流本的子孫回答，說：“耶和華怎樣吩咐僕人，我們就怎樣行。我們要武裝起來，在耶和華面前過河，到迦南地去；只是約旦河這邊的地方，要歸我們作產業。”
