從離開加低斯‧巴尼亞到渡過撒烈溪，這段時期共三十八年，直到這一代的戰士都從營中滅盡，正如耶和華向他們所起的誓。耶和華的手也攻擊他們，將他們從營中除滅，直到滅盡。

因此，他使他們的日子全歸虛空，叫他們的年歲盡屬驚恐。
