‘ Not one of those who were 20 years old or more when they came up out of Egypt will see the land. They have not followed me with their whole heart. I promised to give the land to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

‘凡从埃及上来、二十岁以外的人断不得看见我对亚伯拉罕、以撒、雅各起誓应许之地，因为他们没有专心跟从我。

‘凡从埃及上来二十岁以上的人，断不得看见我对亚伯拉罕、以撒、雅各起誓应许之地，因为他们没有专心跟从我；

‘凡从埃及上来二十岁以上的人，断不得看见我对亚伯拉罕、以撒、雅各起誓应许之地，因为他们没有专心跟从我；

‘从埃及出来、二十岁以上的人都看不到我起誓要赐给亚伯拉罕、以撒和雅各的土地，因为他们没有全心全意地跟从我；

‘从埃及上来二十岁及以上的人，必不得看见我对亚伯拉罕、以撒、雅各起誓应许的地，因为他们没有专心跟从我。

『凡從埃及上來二十歲以上的人，斷不得看見我對亞伯拉罕、以撒、雅各起誓應許之地，因為他們沒有專心跟從我；

『凡從埃及上來二十歲以上的人，斷不得看見我對亞伯拉罕、以撒、雅各起誓應許之地，因為他們沒有專心跟從我；

『從埃及出來、二十歲以上的人都看不到我起誓要賜給亞伯拉罕、以撒和雅各的土地，因為他們沒有全心全意地跟從我；

‘從埃及上來二十歲及以上的人，必不得看見我對亞伯拉罕、以撒、雅各起誓應許的地，因為他們沒有專心跟從我。

「凡由埃及上來、從二十歲和以上的人、斷不得以看見我對亞伯拉罕、以撒、雅各起誓應許的土地，因為他們沒有滿心滿懷地跟從我。

出埃及之眾、自二十歲以上者、既不專從乎我、皆不獲見我所誓於亞伯拉罕以撒雅各之地、

出埃及之有眾、自二十歲以上者、既不竭忠從我、故所誓亞伯拉罕、以撒、雅各之地必不能得、

出伊及之眾、自二十歲以上者、因不忠心從我、必不得見我誓賜亞伯拉罕以撒雅各之地、

‘ Because they have not followed me wholeheartedly, not one of those who were twenty years old or more when they came up out of Egypt will see the land I promised on oath to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob—

‘ Surely none of the men who came up out of Egypt, from twenty years old and upward, shall see the land that I swore to give to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, because they have not wholly followed me,

‘ Of all those I rescued from Egypt, no one who is twenty years old or older will ever see the land I swore to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, for they have not obeyed me wholeheartedly.

‘ Because they did not remain loyal to me, none of the men twenty years old or more who came up from Egypt will see the land I swore to give Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—

‘ None of the men who came up from Egypt, from twenty years old and upward, shall see the land which I swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob; for they did not follow Me fully,

‘ surely none of the men who came up from Egypt, from twenty years old and above, shall see the land of which I swore to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, because they have not wholly followed Me,

Surely none of the men that came up out of Egypt, from twenty years old and upward, shall see the land which I sware unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob; because they have not wholly followed me:

‘ Because they did not follow Me completely, none of the men 20 years old or more who came up from Egypt will see the land I swore to give Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—

Surely none of the men that came up out of Egypt, from twenty years old and upward, shall see the land which I sware unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob; because they have not wholly followed me:

‘ Because they have not followed me wholeheartedly, not one of the men twenty years old and upward who came from Egypt will see the land that I swore to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob,

‘ Surely none of the men who came up out of Egypt, from twenty years old and upward, shall see the land which I swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob; because they have not wholly followed me,

So tell them,‘ Here is what I am announcing. I am the Lord. You can be sure that I live. And here is what you can be just as sure of. I will do to you the very thing that I heard you say.You will die in this desert. Every one of you 20 years old or more will die. Every one of you who was counted in the list of the people will die. Every one of you who has spoken out against me will be wiped out.I lifted up my hand and promised to make this land your home. But now not all of you will enter the land. Caleb, the son of Jephunneh, will enter it. So will Joshua, the son of Nun. They are the only ones who will enter the land.

But my servant Caleb has a different spirit. He follows me with his whole heart. So I will bring him into the land he went to. And his children after him will receive land there.

Between the time we left Kadesh Barnea and the time we went across the Zered Valley, 38 years had passed. By then, all the fighting men who had been in our camp from the beginning had died. The Lord had warned them that it would happen.He used his power against them until he had gotten rid of all of them. Not one was left in the camp.

Several other men of Israel went up with me. What they reported terrified the people. But I followed the Lord my God with my whole heart.So on that day Moses made a promise to me. He said,‘ The land you have walked on will be your share. It will be the share of your children forever. That’s because you have followed the Lord my God with your whole heart.’( Deuteronomy 1:36)

“ Count all the men of Israel. Make a list of them by their families. Count all the men who are able to serve in Israel’s army. They must be 20 years old or more.”

“ I promised to give this good land to your people of long ago. But no one alive today will see it.

The men of Israel had been counted before in the Sinai Desert by Moses and Aaron the priest. But not one of them was among the men counted this time.The Lord had told the Israelites at Kadesh Barnea that they would certainly die in the desert. Not one of them was left alive except Caleb and Joshua. Caleb was the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua was the son of Nun.
