民遣人至示羅、由彼以居基路伯間萬有之主之約匱舁來、以利二子何弗尼非尼哈偕至、守天主之約匱、主之約匱既至營中、以色列眾大聲號呼、地為之震動、

祭司七人、各執角行於匱前、至第七日、須巡遶城七次、祭司吹角、彼吹角、爾聞角聲、民眾當大聲而呼、城即塌陷、塌陷或作傾圮下同使民各向迎面處直入、嫩之子約書亞召諸祭司命之曰、爾舁約匱、七祭司各執角行於主之匱前、

祭司七人、各執一角、行於主之匱前而吹之、備戰之前隊行於前、後隊行於主之匱後、祭司且行且吹角、第二日、遶城一次、遂返營、如是行六日、第七日黎明、眾民夙興、如前遶城七次、

斯時天主匱在以色列人中、掃羅謂亞希亞曰、舁天主匱至此、

祭司亞倫孫以利亞撒子非尼哈見之、即離會眾、手執戈、隨以色列人後入幕、將二人、即以色列人及女、由其腹刺而殺之、於是瘟疫止於以色列人中、遭瘟疫而死者、計二萬四千人、○主諭摩西曰、祭司亞倫孫以利亞撒子非尼哈、在以色列人中為我熱中、致我向以色列人息怒、在我忌邪發怒之時、不以之翦滅、故爾當告非尼哈曰、我必賜之以平康之約、此即立彼與其子孫永為祭司之約、因彼為其天主熱中、為以色列人贖罪、○
