From the Israelites’ half, Moses selected one out of every fifty people and animals, as the Lord commanded him, and gave them to the Levites, who were responsible for the care of the Lord’s tabernacle.

Moses chose one out of every 50 people and animals. He gave them to the Levites. They were accountable for taking care of the Lord’ s holy tent. Moses did just as the Lord had commanded him.

弟兄們，我們勸你們要敬重那些在你們中間勞苦的，就是在主裏面督導你們、勸戒你們的人。又因他們所做的工作，要以愛心格外尊重他們。你們也要彼此和睦。

以色列的守望者都瞎了眼，沒有知識；都是啞狗，不會吠叫，只知做夢，躺臥，貪睡，這些狗貪食，不知飽足。這些牧人不知明辨，他們都偏行己路，人人追求自己的利益。

你的五穀、新酒和新油的十分之一，或是牛羣羊羣中頭生的，或是你的許願祭、甘心祭和手中的舉祭，都不可在你的城裏吃，必須在耶和華－你的上帝面前吃，在耶和華－你上帝所選擇的地方，你和兒女、僕婢，以及住在你城裏的利未人都可以吃，並要因你手所做的一切，在耶和華－你上帝面前歡樂。你要謹慎，在你所住的地上，你永不可離棄利未人。

「至於利未的子孫，看哪，我已賜給他們以色列所有出產的十分之一為業，作為他們在會幕中事奉的酬勞。以色列人不可再挨近會幕，免得他們擔當罪而死。惟獨利未人要在會幕中事奉，他們要擔當罪孽，作為你們世世代代永遠的定例。他們在以色列人中不可有產業；因為以色列人出產的十分之一，就是獻給耶和華為舉祭的，我已賜給利未人為業。所以我對他們說，他們不可在以色列人中有產業。」

來，稱頌耶和華！夜間侍立在耶和華殿中，耶和華的僕人，

這些事以後，主另外指定七十二個人，差遣他們兩個兩個地在他前面，往自己所要到的各城各地去。他對他們說：「要收的莊稼多，做工的人少。所以，你們要求莊稼的主差遣做工的人出去收他的莊稼。你們去吧！看！我差你們出去，如同羔羊進入狼羣。不要帶錢囊，不要帶行囊，不要帶鞋子；在路上也不要向人問安。無論進哪一家，先要說：『願這一家平安。』那裏若有當得平安的人，你們所求的平安就必臨到那家，不然，將歸還你們。你們要住在那家，吃喝他們所供給的，因為工人得工錢是應當的；不要從這家搬到那家。無論進哪一城，人若接待你們，給你們擺上甚麼食物，你們就吃甚麼。
