From the Israelites’ half, Moses selected one out of every fifty people and animals, as the Lord commanded him, and gave them to the Levites, who were responsible for the care of the Lord’s tabernacle.

Moses chose one out of every 50 people and animals. He gave them to the Levites. They were accountable for taking care of the Lord’ s holy tent. Moses did just as the Lord had commanded him.

弟兄们，我们劝你们敬重那在你们中间劳苦的人，就是在主里面治理你们、劝戒你们的；又因他们所做的工，用爱心格外尊重他们。你们也要彼此和睦。

他看守的人是瞎眼的，都没有知识，都是哑巴狗，不能叫唤；但知做梦，躺卧，贪睡，这些狗贪食，不知饱足。这些牧人不能明白，各人偏行己路，各从各方求自己的利益。

你的五谷、新酒，和油的十分之一，或是牛群羊群中头生的，或是你许愿献的，甘心献的，或是手中的举祭，都不可在你城里吃。但要在耶和华你的神面前吃，在耶和华你神所要选择的地方，你和儿女、仆婢，并住在你城里的利未人，都可以吃；也要因你手所办的，在耶和华你神面前欢乐。你要谨慎，在你所住的地方永不可丢弃利未人。

“凡以色列中出产的十分之一，我已赐给利未的子孙为业；因他们所办的是会幕的事，所以赐给他们为酬他们的劳。从今以后，以色列人不可挨近会幕，免得他们担罪而死。惟独利未人要办会幕的事，担当罪孽；这要作你们世世代代永远的定例。他们在以色列人中不可有产业；因为以色列人中出产的十分之一，就是献给耶和华为举祭的，我已赐给利未人为业。所以我对他们说：‘在以色列人中不可有产业。’”

耶和华的仆人夜间站在耶和华殿中的，你们当称颂耶和华！

这事以后，主又设立七十个人，差遣他们两个两个地在他前面，往自己所要到的各城各地方去，就对他们说：“要收的庄稼多，做工的人少。所以，你们当求庄稼的主打发工人出去收他的庄稼。你们去吧！我差你们出去，如同羊羔进入狼群。不要带钱囊，不要带口袋，不要带鞋；在路上也不要问人的安。无论进哪一家，先要说：‘愿这一家平安。’那里若有当得平安的人，你们所求的平安就必临到那家；不然，就归与你们了。你们要住在那家，吃喝他们所供给的，因为工人得工价是应当的；不要从这家搬到那家。无论进哪一城，人若接待你们，给你们摆上什么，你们就吃什么。
