From the Israelites’ half, Moses selected one out of every fifty people and animals, as the Lord commanded him, and gave them to the Levites, who were responsible for the care of the Lord’s tabernacle.

Moses chose one out of every 50 people and animals. He gave them to the Levites. They were accountable for taking care of the Lord’ s holy tent. Moses did just as the Lord had commanded him.

他的守望者都是瞎眼的，都没有知识；他们都是哑巴狗，不能吠；只会作梦、躺卧，贪爱睡觉。这些狗十分贪吃，不知饱足；他们是牧人，但什么都不明白；他们都偏行自己的道路，各从各方求自己的利益。

你的五谷、新酒和新油的十分之一，你牛群羊群中头生的和你所许一切还愿的祭、你甘心献的祭和你手中的贡献，都不可在你的城里吃；你只要在耶和华你的神面前，和在耶和华你的神选择的地方吃，你和你的儿女、仆婢，以及在你城里的利未人，都可以吃；你也要因你手所作的一切事在耶和华你的神面前欢乐。你要自己谨慎，你在你那地上的日子，永不可丢弃利未人。

“至于利未的子孙，我已经把以色列中所有的十分之一，赐给了他们作产业，这是为酬报他们在会幕里办理的事务。从今以后，以色列人不可走近会幕，免得他们负罪而死。唯独利未人要办理会幕的事，要担当他们的罪孽，这要作你们世世代代永远的条例；在以色列人中，他们不可有产业。因为以色列人献给耶和华为举祭的十分之一，我已经赐给了利未人作产业；所以我对他们说：在以色列人中，他们不可有产业。”

这些事以后，主又另外指派了七十二个人（“七十二个人”有些抄本作“七十个人”），差遣他们两个两个地，在他前面，到他自己将要到的各城各地去。耶稣对他们说：“庄稼多，工人少，所以你们应当求庄稼的主，派工人出去收他的庄稼。你们去吧！我差你们去，如同羊羔进入狼群。不要带钱囊，不要带口袋，不要带鞋，不要在路上问候人。无论进哪一家，先说：‘愿平安归与这家！’那里若有配得平安的人（“配得平安的人”原文作“平安之子”），你们的平安就必临到他，不然，就归给你们。你们要住在那家，吃喝他们所供给的，因为作工的理当得工资；不必从这家搬到那家。无论进哪一城，人若接待你们，摆上什么，就吃什么。
