Moses gave the tribute to Eleazar the priest as the Lord’s part, as the Lord commanded Moses.

Moses gave the gift to Eleazar the priest. It was the Lord’ s share. Moses did just as the Lord had commanded him.

Yahweh spoke to Aaron,“ Behold, I myself have given you the command of my wave offerings, even all the holy things of the children of Israel. I have given them to you by reason of the anointing, and to your sons, as a portion forever.

All the wave offerings of the holy things which the children of Israel offer to Yahweh, I have given you and your sons and your daughters with you, as a portion forever. It is a covenant of salt forever before Yahweh to you and to your offspring with you.”

Let the elders who rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in the word and in teaching.

Take it from their half, and give it to Eleazar the priest, for Yahweh’s wave offering.Of the children of Israel’s half, you shall take one drawn out of every fifty, of the persons, of the cattle, of the donkeys, and of the flocks, of all the livestock, and give them to the Levites, who perform the duty of Yahweh’s tabernacle.”Moses and Eleazar the priest did as Yahweh commanded Moses.

or does he say it assuredly for our sake? Yes, it was written for our sake, because he who plows ought to plow in hope, and he who threshes in hope should partake of his hope.If we sowed to you spiritual things, is it a great thing if we reap your fleshly things?If others partake of this right over you, don’t we yet more? Nevertheless we didn’t use this right, but we bear all things, that we may cause no hindrance to the Good News of Christ.Don’t you know that those who serve around sacred things eat from the things of the temple, and those who wait on the altar have their portion with the altar?Even so the Lord ordained that those who proclaim the Good News should live from the Good News.

Take no bag for your journey, neither two coats, nor sandals, nor staff: for the laborer is worthy of his food.

We can say that through Abraham even Levi, who receives tithes, has paid tithes,for he was yet in the body of his father when Melchizedek met him.Now if perfection was through the Levitical priesthood( for under it the people have received the law), what further need was there for another priest to arise after the order of Melchizedek, and not be called after the order of Aaron?For the priesthood being changed, there is of necessity a change made also in the law.

Now consider how great this man was, to whom even Abraham, the patriarch, gave a tenth out of the best plunder.They indeed of the sons of Levi who receive the priest’s office have a commandment to take tithes of the people according to the law, that is, of their brothers, though these have come out of the body of Abraham,but he whose genealogy is not counted from them has accepted tithes from Abraham, and has blessed him who has the promises.

But let him who is taught in the word share all good things with him who teaches.

Every heave offering of all the holy things of the children of Israel, which they present to the priest, shall be his.
