彼從巴蘭之謀、使以色列族因奉毘珥、干罪於耶和華、致疫行於耶和華之會、

彼從巴蘭之言、誘以色列族、逆耶和華、服役於比耳、故耶和華降災於會眾。

彼曾從巴蘭之計、誘以色列人拜毘珥、得罪於主、以致主之會遇瘟疫、

“ They were the ones who followed Balaam’s advice and enticed the Israelites to be unfaithful to the Lord in the Peor incident, so that a plague struck the Lord’s people.

“ The women followed Balaam’s advice. They caused the Israelites to be unfaithful to the Lord. The people worshiped the god named Baal that was worshiped at Peor. So a plague struck them.

Behold, these, on Balaam’s advice, caused the people of Israel to act treacherously against the Lord in the incident of Peor, and so the plague came among the congregation of the Lord.

“ These are the very ones who followed Balaam’s advice and caused the people of Israel to rebel against the Lord at Mount Peor. They are the ones who caused the plague to strike the Lord’s people.

“ Yet they are the ones who, at Balaam’s advice, incited the Israelites to unfaithfulness against the LORD in the Peor incident, so that the plague came against the LORD’s community.

Behold, they caused the sons of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to be unfaithful to the Lord in the matter of Peor, so that the plague took place among the congregation of the Lord!

Look, these women caused the children of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to trespass against the Lord in the incident of Peor, and there was a plague among the congregation of the Lord.

Behold, these caused the children of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to commit trespass against Jehovah in the matter of Peor, and so the plague was among the congregation of Jehovah.

“ Yet they are the ones who, at Balaam’s advice, incited the Israelites to unfaithfulness against the Lord in the Peor incident, so that the plague came against the Lord’s community.

Behold, these caused the children of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to commit trespass against the LORD in the matter of Peor, and there was a plague among the congregation of the LORD.

Look, these people through the counsel of Balaam caused the Israelites to act treacherously against the LORD in the matter of Peor– which resulted in the plague among the community of the LORD!

Behold, these caused the children of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to commit trespass against Yahweh in the matter of Peor, and so the plague was among the congregation of Yahweh.

以色列人住在什亭；他們的人民和摩押的女子行起淫亂來。那些女子請以色列人民去赴獻與她們的神的祭筵，以色列人民竟喫她們的祭筵，跪拜她們的神。這樣、以色列人委身於毘珥的巴力，永恆主就向以色列人發怒。對摩西說：『你把人民所有的首領拘拿、當着永恆主面前、就在日光之下正法示眾，讓永恆主的烈怒得以轉消、不向以色列人發作。』於是摩西對以色列的官長們說：『你們各人要把自己的人、就是那些委身於毘珥的巴力的殺掉。』摩西和以色列人全會眾正在會棚出入處哭的時候，以色列人中忽然來了一個人，就在他們眼前、帶着一個米甸女人、來到他的族弟兄那裏。祭司亞倫的孫子以利亞撒的兒子非尼哈看見了，就從會眾中起來，手裏拿着槍，跟着那以色列人進圓拱帳幕，把他們兩個人刺死，就是刺死那以色列人和那女人，槍由肚子裏透過去。這樣、疫症就從以色列人中制住了。那時因疫症而死的、有二萬四千人。

他們既離棄了正直的路，就走迷了，一味隨從比珥的兒子巴蘭的路。巴蘭就是那貪愛不義之工錢的，

不過我有一點要責備你的，就是你有執守巴蘭教訓的人在你那裏。這巴蘭教導了巴勒將絆跌物丟在以色列人面前，叫他們喫祭偶像之物並行邪淫、變節去拜偶像。

永恆主在巴力毘珥所行的、你們親眼看見了；凡隨從毘珥的巴力的、永恆主你們的上帝都從你們中間消滅掉了。

從前拜巴力毘珥的罪愆、我們還以為是小事麼？雖有疫病襲擊了永恆主的會眾、直到今日我們還未潔淨以脫這罪呢。

看哪，如今我要回我本族之民那裏去了；來吧，我報給你知道這族之民日後必怎樣待你的人民。』

因為他們用詭計擾害你們，在毘珥的事情上、和他們的姊妹、米甸首領的女兒哥斯比的事情上、用詭計騙了你們：這哥斯比是當疫症流行的日子、因毘珥的事而被擊殺的。』

因為妓女是深坑；外女是窄阱；

我查出一宗比死還苦的事：就是有一種婦人是網羅；她的心是網子，她的手是鎖鍊：那使上帝喜悅的人能躲避她；愛犯罪的人卻被她纏住了。
