“七月初十日，你们当有圣会；要刻苦己心，什么工都不可做。

“七月十日，你们要举行圣会，禁食，不可工作。

“‘在七月十日，你们要有圣会，刻苦己心，什么都不可作，

「七月初十，你們當有聖會；要刻苦己心，任何工都不可做。

「七月初十，你們當有聖會；要刻苦己心，任何工都不可做。

「七月十日，你們要舉行聖會，禁食，不可工作。

“‘在七月十日，你們要有聖會，刻苦己心，甚麼都不可作，

『在這七月十日、你們要有聖聚會，要刻苦自己；甚麼工都不可作，

七月十日、必有聖會、當苦其心、勿操作、

七月十日、必有聖會、咸止工作、卑以自牧、

七月十日、爾當有聖會、必刻苦齋戒、無論何工、悉毋作、

“‘ On the tenth day of this seventh month hold a sacred assembly. You must deny yourselves and do no work.

“‘ On the tenth day of the seventh month, come together for a special service. You must not eat anything on that day. You must not do any work on it.

“ On the tenth day of this seventh month you shall have a holy convocation and afflict yourselves. You shall do no work,

“ Ten days later, on the tenth day of the same month, you must call another holy assembly. On that day, the Day of Atonement, the people must go without food and must do no ordinary work.

“ You are to hold a sacred assembly on the tenth day of this seventh month and practice self-denial; do not do any work.

‘ Then on the tenth day of this seventh month you shall have a holy assembly, and you shall humble yourselves; you shall not do any work.

‘ On the tenth day of this seventh month you shall have a holy convocation. You shall afflict your souls; you shall not do any work.

And on the tenth day of this seventh month ye shall have a holy convocation; and ye shall afflict your souls: ye shall do no manner of work;

“ You are to hold a sacred assembly on the tenth day of this seventh month and practice self-denial; you must not do any work.

And ye shall have on the tenth[ day] of this seventh month an holy convocation; and ye shall afflict your souls: ye shall not do any work[ therein]:

“‘ On the tenth day of this seventh month you are to have a holy assembly. You must humble yourselves; you must not do any work on it.

“‘ On the tenth day of this seventh month you shall have a holy convocation. You shall afflict your souls. You shall do no kind of work;

至于我，当他们有病的时候，我便穿麻衣，禁食，刻苦己心；我所求的都归到自己的怀中。

“每逢七月初十日，你们要刻苦己心，无论是本地人，是寄居在你们中间的外人，什么工都不可做；这要作你们永远的定例。因在这日要为你们赎罪，使你们洁净。你们要在耶和华面前得以洁净，脱尽一切的罪愆。这日你们要守为圣安息日，要刻苦己心；这为永远的定例。

走的日子多了，已经过了禁食的节期，行船又危险，保罗就劝众人说：

那时，我在亚哈瓦河边宣告禁食，为要在我们神面前克苦己心，求他使我们和妇人孩子，并一切所有的，都得平坦的道路。

我告诉你们，不是的！你们若不悔改，都要如此灭亡！”

他们说：‘我们禁食，你为何不看见呢？我们刻苦己心，你为何不理会呢？’看哪，你们禁食的日子仍求利益，勒逼人为你们做苦工。你们禁食，却互相争竞，以凶恶的拳头打人。你们今日禁食，不得使你们的声音听闻于上。这样禁食岂是我所拣选、使人刻苦己心的日子吗？岂是叫人垂头像苇子，用麻布和炉灰铺在他以下吗？你这可称为禁食、为耶和华所悦纳的日子吗？

因为知道我们的旧人和他同钉十字架，使罪身灭绝，叫我们不再作罪的奴仆；

耶和华晓谕摩西说：“七月初十是赎罪日；你们要守为圣会，并要刻苦己心，也要将火祭献给耶和华。当这日，什么工都不可做；因为是赎罪日，要在耶和华你们的神面前赎罪。当这日，凡不刻苦己心的，必从民中剪除。凡这日做什么工的，我必将他从民中除灭。你们什么工都不可做。这在你们一切的住处作为世世代代永远的定例。你们要守这日为圣安息日，并要刻苦己心。从这月初九日晚上到次日晚上，要守为安息日。”

当那日，主万军之耶和华叫人哭泣哀号，头上光秃，身披麻布。

我是攻克己身，叫身服我，恐怕我传福音给别人，自己反被弃绝了。

我告诉你们，不是的！你们若不悔改，都要如此灭亡！

“我必将那施恩叫人恳求的灵，浇灌大卫家和耶路撒冷的居民。他们必仰望我，就是他们所扎的；必为我悲哀，如丧独生子，又为我愁苦，如丧长子。

流泪撒种的，必欢呼收割！那带种流泪出去的，必要欢欢乐乐地带禾捆回来！

如今我欢喜，不是因你们忧愁，是因你们从忧愁中生出懊悔来。你们依着神的意思忧愁，凡事就不至于因我们受亏损了。因为依着神的意思忧愁，就生出没有后悔的懊悔来，以致得救；但世俗的忧愁是叫人死。你看，你们依着神的意思忧愁，从此就生出何等的殷勤、自诉、自恨、恐惧、想念、热心、责罚。在这一切事上，你们都表明自己是洁净的。

你们亲近神，神就必亲近你们。有罪的人哪，要洁净你们的手！心怀二意的人哪，要清洁你们的心！你们要愁苦、悲哀、哭泣，将喜笑变作悲哀，欢乐变作愁闷。务要在主面前自卑，主就必叫你们升高。

并问万军之耶和华殿中的祭司和先知说：“我历年以来，在五月间哭泣斋戒，现在还当这样行吗？”

哀恸的人有福了！因为他们必得安慰。
