他不必像那些大祭司，天天先為自己的罪獻祭，然後為人民的罪獻祭；因為他獻上了自己，就把這事一次而永遠的成全了。

耶和華卻喜悅把他壓傷，使他受痛苦；耶和華若以他的性命作贖罪祭，他必看見後裔，並且得享長壽；耶和華所喜悅的，必在他手中亨通。

“為你的同胞和你的聖城，已經定了七十個七，要結束過犯，終止罪惡，遮蓋罪孽，引進永義，封住異象和預言，並且膏抹至聖所（“至聖所”或譯：“至聖者”）。你要知道，也要明白，從發出命令恢復和重建耶路撒冷，直到受膏君的時候，必有七個七；又有六十二個七（“必有七個七；又有六十二個七”或譯：“必有七個七和六十二個七”），耶路撒冷連廣場和濠溝，都必重新建造起來；那是一段困苦的時期。六十二個七以後，受膏者必被剪除，一無所有（“一無所有”或譯：“不再存在”）；那將要來的領袖的人民必毀滅這城和聖所。結局必像洪水而來；必有爭戰直到末了；荒涼的事已經定了。

亞倫要把那抽籤歸耶和華的山羊，獻作贖罪祭。

他不必多次把自己獻上，好像大祭司每年帶著不是自己的血進入至聖所一樣。如果這樣，他從創世以來，就必須受許多次的苦了。可是現在他在這世代的終結，只顯現一次，把自己作為祭品獻上，好除掉罪。按著定命，人人都要死一次，死後還有審判。照樣，基督為了擔當許多人的罪，也曾經一次把自己獻上；將來他還要再一次顯現，不是為擔當罪，而是要向那些熱切期待他的人成全救恩。

在月初的燔祭和同獻的素祭、常獻的燔祭和同獻的素祭，以及照例同獻的奠祭以外，還要獻上這些給耶和華作馨香的火祭。
