“‘ On the first day of the seventh month hold a sacred assembly and do no regular work. It is a day for you to sound the trumpets.

“‘ On the first day of the seventh month, come together for a special service. Do not do any regular work. Blow the trumpets on that day.

“ On the first day of the seventh month you shall have a holy convocation. You shall not do any ordinary work. It is a day for you to blow the trumpets,

“ Celebrate the Festival of Trumpets each year on the first day of the appointed month in early autumn. You must call an official day for holy assembly, and you may do no ordinary work.

“ You are to hold a sacred assembly in the seventh month, on the first day of the month, and you are not to do any daily work. This will be a day of trumpet blasts for you.

‘ Now in the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall have a holy assembly; you shall do no laborious work. It will be to you a day for blowing trumpets.

‘ And in the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall have a holy convocation. You shall do no customary work. For you it is a day of blowing the trumpets.

And in the seventh month, on the first day of the month, ye shall have a holy convocation; ye shall do no servile work: it is a day of blowing of trumpets unto you.

The Lord said to Moses:“ Make two trumpets of hammered silver, and use them for calling the community together and for having the camps set out.When both are sounded, the whole community is to assemble before you at the entrance to the tent of meeting.If only one is sounded, the leaders— the heads of the clans of Israel— are to assemble before you.When a trumpet blast is sounded, the tribes camping on the east are to set out.At the sounding of a second blast, the camps on the south are to set out. The blast will be the signal for setting out.To gather the assembly, blow the trumpets, but not with the signal for setting out.“ The sons of Aaron, the priests, are to blow the trumpets. This is to be a lasting ordinance for you and the generations to come.When you go into battle in your own land against an enemy who is oppressing you, sound a blast on the trumpets. Then you will be remembered by the Lord your God and rescued from your enemies.Also at your times of rejoicing— your appointed festivals and New Moon feasts— you are to sound the trumpets over your burnt offerings and fellowship offerings, and they will be a memorial for you before your God. How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written:“ How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”But not all the Israelites accepted the good news. For Isaiah says,“ Lord, who has believed our message?”Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.But I ask: Did they not hear? Of course they did:“ Their voice has gone out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world.” (niv)

On the first day of the seventh month they began to offer burnt offerings to the Lord, though the foundation of the Lord’s temple had not yet been laid. (niv)

He said to them,“ Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. (niv)

The priests, the Levites, the gatekeepers, the musicians and the temple servants, along with certain of the people and the rest of the Israelites, settled in their own towns. When the seventh month came and the Israelites had settled in their towns, (niv)

So all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of the Lord with shouts, with the sounding of rams’ horns and trumpets, and of cymbals, and the playing of lyres and harps. (niv)

Sound the ram’s horn at the New Moon, and when the moon is full, on the day of our festival; (niv)
