“‘ On the first day of the seventh month hold a sacred assembly and do no regular work. It is a day for you to sound the trumpets.

“‘ On the first day of the seventh month, come together for a special service. Do not do any regular work. Blow the trumpets on that day.

“ On the first day of the seventh month you shall have a holy convocation. You shall not do any ordinary work. It is a day for you to blow the trumpets,

“ Celebrate the Festival of Trumpets each year on the first day of the appointed month in early autumn. You must call an official day for holy assembly, and you may do no ordinary work.

“ You are to hold a sacred assembly in the seventh month, on the first day of the month, and you are not to do any daily work. This will be a day of trumpet blasts for you.

‘ Now in the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall have a holy assembly; you shall do no laborious work. It will be to you a day for blowing trumpets.

And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,Make thee two trumpets of silver; of beaten work shalt thou make them: and thou shalt use them for the calling of the congregation, and for the journeying of the camps.And when they shall blow them, all the congregation shall gather themselves unto thee at the door of the tent of meeting.And if they blow but one, then the princes, the heads of the thousands of Israel, shall gather themselves unto thee.And when ye blow an alarm, the camps that lie on the east side shall take their journey.And when ye blow an alarm the second time, the camps that lie on the south side shall take their journey: they shall blow an alarm for their journeys.But when the assembly is to be gathered together, ye shall blow, but ye shall not sound an alarm.And the sons of Aaron, the priests, shall blow the trumpets; and they shall be to you for a statute for ever throughout your generations.And when ye go to war in your land against the adversary that oppresseth you, then ye shall sound an alarm with the trumpets; and ye shall be remembered before Jehovah your God, and ye shall be saved from your enemies.Also in the day of your gladness, and in your set feasts, and in the beginnings of your months, ye shall blow the trumpets over your burnt- offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace- offerings; and they shall be to you for a memorial before your God: I am Jehovah your God.

Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: They walk, O Jehovah, in the light of thy countenance.

How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?and how shall they preach, except they be sent? even as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that bring glad tidings of good things!But they did not all hearken to the glad tidings. For Isaiah saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?So belief cometh of hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.But I say, Did they not hear? Yea, verily, Their sound went out into all the earth, And their words unto the ends of the world.

From the first day of the seventh month began they to offer burnt- offerings unto Jehovah: but the foundation of the temple of Jehovah was not yet laid.

And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to the whole creation.He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that disbelieveth shall be condemned.

So the priests, and the Levites, and the porters, and the singers, and some of the people, and the Nethinim, and all Israel, dwelt in their cities. And when the seventh month was come, the children of Israel were in their cities.

Thus all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of Jehovah with shouting, and with sound of the cornet, and with trumpets, and with cymbals, sounding aloud with psalteries and harps.

Blow the trumpet at the new moon, At the full moon, on our feast- day.

And Jehovah shall be seen over them; and his arrow shall go forth as the lightning; and the Lord Jehovah will blow the trumpet, and will go with whirlwinds of the south.

And it shall come to pass in that day, that a great trumpet shall be blown; and they shall come that were ready to perish in the land of Assyria, and they that were outcasts in the land of Egypt; and they shall worship Jehovah in the holy mountain at Jerusalem.
