“ On the day of firstfruits, you are to hold a sacred assembly when you present an offering of new grain to the LORD at your Festival of Weeks; you are not to do any daily work.

“‘ On the day of firstfruits, when you present to the Lord an offering of new grain during the Festival of Weeks, hold a sacred assembly and do no regular work.

“‘ On the day you gather the first share of your crops, present to the Lord an offering of your first grain. Do it during the Feast of Weeks. Come together for a special service. Do not do any regular work.

“ On the day of the firstfruits, when you offer a grain offering of new grain to the Lord at your Feast of Weeks, you shall have a holy convocation. You shall not do any ordinary work,

“ At the Festival of Harvest, when you present the first of your new grain to the Lord, you must call an official day for holy assembly, and you may do no ordinary work on that day.

‘ Also on the day of the first fruits, when you present a new grain offering to the Lord in your Feast of Weeks, you shall have a holy assembly; you shall do no laborious work.

‘ Also on the day of the firstfruits, when you bring a new grain offering to the Lord at your Feast of Weeks, you shall have a holy convocation. You shall do no customary work.

Also in the day of the first- fruits, when ye offer a new meal- offering unto Jehovah in your feast of weeks, ye shall have a holy convocation; ye shall do no servile work;

Also observe the Festival of Harvest with the firstfruits of your produce from what you sow in the field, and observe the Festival of Ingathering at the end of the year, when you gather your produce from the field.

“ Observe the Festival of Weeks with the firstfruits of the wheat harvest, and the Festival of Ingathering at the turn of the agricultural year.

“ Speak to the Israelites and tell them: When you enter the land I am giving you and reap its harvest, you are to bring the first sheaf of your harvest to the priest.

“ You are to count seven complete weeks starting from the day after the Sabbath, the day you brought the sheaf of the presentation offering.You are to count fifty days until the day after the seventh Sabbath and then present an offering of new grain to the LORD.Bring two loaves of bread from your settlements as a presentation offering, each of them made from four quarts of fine flour, baked with yeast, as firstfruits to the LORD.You are to present with the bread seven unblemished male lambs a year old, one young bull, and two rams. They will be a burnt offering to the LORD, with their grain offerings and drink offerings, a food offering, a pleasing aroma to the LORD.You are also to prepare one male goat as a sin offering, and two male lambs a year old as a fellowship sacrifice.The priest will present the lambs with the bread of firstfruits as a presentation offering before the LORD; the bread and the two lambs will be holy to the LORD for the priest.On that same day you are to make a proclamation and hold a sacred assembly. You are not to do any daily work. This is to be a permanent statute wherever you live throughout your generations.

“ You are to count seven weeks, counting the weeks from the time the sickle is first put to the standing grain.You are to celebrate the Festival of Weeks to the LORD your God with a freewill offering that you give in proportion to how the LORD your God has blessed you.Rejoice before the LORD your God in the place where he chooses to have his name dwell— you, your son and daughter, your male and female slave, the Levite within your city gates, as well as the resident alien, the fatherless, and the widow among you.

On the first day there is to be a sacred assembly; you are not to do any daily work.

By his own choice, he gave us birth by the word of truth so that we would be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.

But as it is, Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.

When the day of Pentecost had arrived, they were all together in one place.Suddenly a sound like that of a violent rushing wind came from heaven, and it filled the whole house where they were staying.They saw tongues like flames of fire that separated and rested on each one of them.Then they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in different tongues, as the Spirit enabled them.Now there were Jews staying in Jerusalem, devout people from every nation under heaven.When this sound occurred, a crowd came together and was confused because each one heard them speaking in his own language.They were astounded and amazed, saying,“ Look, aren’t all these who are speaking Galileans?How is it that each of us can hear them in our own native language?Parthians, Medes, Elamites; those who live in Mesopotamia, in Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia,Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya near Cyrene; visitors from Rome( both Jews and converts),Cretans and Arabs— we hear them declaring the magnificent acts of God in our own tongues.”They were all astounded and perplexed, saying to one another,“ What does this mean?”But some sneered and said,“ They’re drunk on new wine.”
