Moses said to his father in law,“ Because the people come to me to inquire of God.When they have a dispute, it comes to me, and I judge between someone and his neighbor and make known the statutes of God and His laws.”Moses’ father in law then said to him,“ The thing that you are doing is not good.You will surely wear out, both yourself and these people who are with you, because the task is too heavy for you; you cannot do it alone.Now listen to me: I will give you counsel, and God be with you. You be the people’s representative before God, and you bring the disputes to God,

Then they put him in custody, waiting for Moses to give them a clear decision in accordance with the command of the Lord.Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,

There I will meet with you; and from above the atoning cover, from between the two cherubim which are upon the ark of the testimony, I will speak to you about every commandment that I will give you for the sons of Israel.

I would present my case before Him And fill my mouth with arguments.

Moses then said to them,“ Wait, and I will listen to what the Lord will command concerning you.”
