这些人中间，没有一个是摩西和亚伦祭司从前在西奈旷野数点以色列人的时候，数点过的。因为耶和华论到他们曾经说过：“他们必死在旷野。”所以除了耶孚尼的儿子迦勒和嫩的儿子约书亚以外，连一个也没有剩下。

看哪！所有的人都是属我的，作父亲的怎样属我，作儿子的也怎样属我，唯独犯罪的，才会灭亡。

我耶和华已经说了，我必要这样对待这聚集反抗我的恶会众；他们要在这旷野灭尽，在这里死亡。”

罪藉着死掌权；照样，恩典也藉着义掌权，使人藉着我们的主耶稣基督进入永生。

以利押的儿子是尼母利、大坍、亚比兰。这大坍和亚比兰原是从会众中选拔出来的，他们和可拉一党的人一起与耶和华争吵，也与摩西和亚伦争吵的时候，地开了口，把他们和可拉吞了下去；可拉与他的同党都死了，那时有火吞灭了二百五十个人，他们成了警戒。

利未的曾孙、哥辖的孙子、以斯哈的儿子可拉，和流本子孙中以利押的儿子大坍、亚比兰，与比勒的儿子安，带着人来，反抗摩西，还有以色列人中的二百五十个人，就是会众的领袖；会众中被选出有名望的人。他们聚集起来反抗摩西和亚伦，对他们说：“你们太过分了，全体会众个个都是圣洁的，耶和华也在他们中间，你们为什么高抬自己，超过耶和华的会众呢？”

地开了口，把他们和他们的家眷，以及一切属可拉的人和财物，都吞了下去。这样，他们和一切属他们的，都活活地下到阴间，地在他们上面合闭，他们就从会众中灭亡了。在他们四周的以色列众人，听见他们的呼叫，就都逃跑，说：“恐怕地也把我们吞下去。”又有火从耶和华那里出来，把那献香的二百五十个人吞灭了。

所以我对你们说，你们要在自己的罪中死亡；你们若不信我就是‘那一位’，就要在自己的罪中死亡。”

除了因可拉事件死亡的以外，因瘟疫死亡的有一万四千七百人。

因为罪的工价就是死，但神的恩赏，在我们的主基督耶稣里，却是永生。

耶稣又对他们说：“我要去了，你们要寻找我，并且要在自己的罪中死亡；我去的地方，你们不能到。”

可拉召聚了全体会众到会幕门口，来攻击摩西和亚伦，耶和华的荣光就向全体会众显现。

希弗的儿子西罗非哈没有儿子，只有女儿；西罗非哈的女儿名叫玛拉、挪阿、曷拉、密迦、得撒。

正好像罪藉着一个人入了世界，死又是从罪来的，所以死就临到所有人，因为所有人都犯了罪。
