And they answered Joshua, saying, All that thou commandest us we will do, and whithersoever thou sendest us, we will go.According as we hearkened unto Moses in all things, so will we hearken unto thee: only the LORD thy God be with thee, as he was with Moses.Whosoever[ he be] that doth rebel against thy commandment, and will not hearken unto thy words in all that thou commandest him, he shall be put to death: only be strong and of a good courage.

And it was[ so], that when he had turned his back to go from Samuel, God gave him another heart: and all those signs came to pass that day.

And Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of Moses,[ one] of his young men, answered and said, My lord Moses, forbid them.And Moses said unto him, Enviest thou for my sake? would God that all the LORD’S people were prophets,[ and] that the LORD would put his spirit upon them!

Then Solomon sat on the throne of the LORD as king instead of David his father, and prospered; and all Israel obeyed him.

And it came to pass, when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for thee, before I be taken away from thee. And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me.And he said, Thou hast asked a hard thing:[ nevertheless], if thou see me[ when I am] taken from thee, it shall be so unto thee; but if not, it shall not be[ so].

And the Spirit of the LORD will come upon thee, and thou shalt prophesy with them, and shalt be turned into another man.

And the LORD magnified Solomon exceedingly in the sight of all Israel, and bestowed upon him[ such] royal majesty as had not been on any king before him in Israel.

And when the sons of the prophets which[ were] to view at Jericho saw him, they said, The spirit of Elijah doth rest on Elisha. And they came to meet him, and bowed themselves to the ground before him.

And I will come down and talk with thee there: and I will take of the spirit which[ is] upon thee, and will put[ it] upon them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with thee, that thou bear[ it] not thyself alone.
