昔在尋野水濱、會眾紛爭、爾曹悖逆我命、不於民前尊我為聖、所言之水、在加低斯米利巴、

昔在汛野、迦鐵境、米利巴水濱、會眾紛爭、爾於斯時悖逆我命、不於民前尊我。

緣昔在汛野會眾紛爭之時、爾曹違背我命、未在水處、當會眾目前崇我為聖、所言之水、即汛野迦叠之米利巴水、

for when the community rebelled at the waters in the Desert of Zin, both of you disobeyed my command to honor me as holy before their eyes.”( These were the waters of Meribah Kadesh, in the Desert of Zin.)

The community refused to obey me at the waters of Meribah Kadesh in the Desert of Zin. At that time, you and Aaron did not obey my command. You did not honor me in front of them as the holy God.”

because you rebelled against my word in the wilderness of Zin when the congregation quarreled, failing to uphold me as holy at the waters before their eyes.”( These are the waters of Meribah of Kadesh in the wilderness of Zin.)

for you both rebelled against my instructions in the wilderness of Zin. When the people of Israel rebelled, you failed to demonstrate my holiness to them at the waters.”( These are the waters of Meribah at Kadesh in the wilderness of Zin.)

For in the Wilderness of Zin, during the strife of the congregation, you rebelled against My command to hallow Me at the waters before their eyes.”( These are the waters of Meribah, at Kadesh in the Wilderness of Zin.)

because ye rebelled against my word in the wilderness of Zin, in the strife of the congregation, to sanctify me at the waters before their eyes.( These are the waters of Meribah of Kadesh in the wilderness of Zin.)

For ye rebelled against my commandment in the desert of Zin, in the strife of the congregation, to sanctify me at the water before their eyes: that[ is] the water of Meribah in Kadesh in the wilderness of Zin.

For in the wilderness of Zin when the community rebelled against me, you rebelled against my command to show me as holy before their eyes over the water– the water of Meribah in Kadesh in the wilderness of Zin.”

because in the strife of the congregation, you rebelled against my word in the wilderness of Zin, to honor me as holy at the waters before their eyes.”( These are the waters of Meribah of Kadesh in the wilderness of Zin.)

He named the place Massah and Meribah because the Israelites complained, and because they tested the Lord, saying,“ Is the Lord among us or not?”

“ The Lord was angry with me also because of you and said:‘ You will not enter there either.

“ Take the staff and assemble the community. You and your brother Aaron are to speak to the rock while they watch, and it will yield its water. You will bring out water for them from the rock and provide drink for the community and their livestock.”So Moses took the staff from the Lord’s presence just as He had commanded him.Moses and Aaron summoned the assembly in front of the rock, and Moses said to them,“ Listen, you rebels! Must we bring water out of this rock for you?”Then Moses raised his hand and struck the rock twice with his staff, so that a great amount of water gushed out, and the community and their livestock drank.But the Lord said to Moses and Aaron,“ Because you did not trust Me to show My holiness in the sight of the Israelites, you will not bring this assembly into the land I have given them.”These are the waters of Meribah, where the Israelites quarreled with the Lord, and He showed His holiness to them.

“ Aaron will be gathered to his people; he will not enter the land I have given the Israelites, because you both rebelled against My command at the waters of Meribah.

The entire Israelite community entered the Wilderness of Zin in the first month, and they settled in Kadesh. Miriam died and was buried there.

For both of you broke faith with Me among the Israelites at the waters of Meribath-kadesh in the Wilderness of Zin by failing to treat Me as holy in their presence.Although from a distance you will view the land that I am giving the Israelites, you will not go there.”

They angered the Lord at the waters of Meribah, and Moses suffered because of them;for they embittered his spirit, and he spoke rashly with his lips.
