If his father had no brothers, give his inheritance to the nearest relative in his clan, that he may possess it. This is to have the force of law for the Israelites, as the Lord commanded Moses.’”

Suppose his father doesn’t have any brothers. Then give his property to the nearest male relative in his family group. It will belong to him. That is what the law will require of the Israelites. It is just as the Lord commanded me.’ ”

And if his father has no brothers, then you shall give his inheritance to the nearest kinsman of his clan, and he shall possess it. And it shall be for the people of Israel a statute and rule, as the Lord commanded Moses.’”

我叔叔的兒子哈拿篾果然照永恆主的話到護衛監的院子來對我說：「在便雅憫地的亞拿突我那田地、你要買它，因為那基業的繼承權是在於你；贖回的權也是你的；你要買它。」於是我耶利米就知道這是永恆主的話。

波阿斯對那位贖業至親說：『從摩押鄉間回來的拿俄米曾經賣了我們族兄以利米勒的那份田地。我心裏說：我應當向你披露說：你可以在在座的人面前、和我族人中間的長老面前、買回它；你如果要贖，就贖它；如果不要贖，就告訴我，讓我知道；因為除了你以外、再沒有別人可以贖了；其次就是我。』那人說：『我要贖。』波阿斯說：『那麼、你從拿俄米手中買這田地的那一天，也該買娶死者的妻摩押女子路得，好讓死者的名得以在他的產業上立起來。』那位贖業至親就說：『這樣我就不能贖了，恐怕對我自己的產業有妨礙；我所應當贖的、你儘管去贖好啦；我不能贖了。』

或是他的伯叔或是他伯叔的兒子都可以贖他，或是他家族的骨肉之親也可以贖他；或者他手頭已經富足起來，他也可以把自己贖回。

你的族弟兄若變成貧乏，賣了幾分地業，他的贖業至親就要來，把弟兄所賣的贖回。

從那天起、大衛就為以色列立了這條做律例典章、直行到今日。
