摩西吩咐以色列人说：“这地就是耶和华吩咐拈阄给九个半支派承受为业的；

你们要按家室拈阄，承受那地；人多的，要把产业多分给他们；人少的，要把产业少分给他们。拈出何地给何人，就要归何人。你们要按宗族的支派承受。

这样，约书亚照着耶和华所吩咐摩西的一切话夺了那全地，就按着以色列支派的宗族将地分给他们为业。于是国中太平，没有争战了。

是照耶和华藉摩西所吩咐的，把产业拈阄分给九个半支派。

为亚设支派，按着宗族，拈出第五阄。

为拿弗他利人，按着宗族，拈出第六阄。

要按着所拈的阄，看人数多，人数少，把产业分给他们。”

于是众人为他们摇签，摇出马提亚来；他就和十一个使徒同列。

为以萨迦人，按着宗族，拈出第四阄。

为西缅支派的人，按着宗族，拈出第二阄。他们所得的地业是在犹大人地业中间。

签放在怀里，定事由耶和华。

为但支派，按着宗族，拈出第七阄。

为西布伦人，按着宗族，拈出第三阄。他们地业的境界是到撒立；

掣签能止息争竞，也能解散强胜的人。

又感谢父，叫我们能与众圣徒在光明中同得基业。

约瑟的子孙对约书亚说：“耶和华到如今既然赐福与我们，我们也族大人多，你为什么仅将一阄一段之地分给我们为业呢？”

约书亚就在示罗，耶和华面前，为他们拈阄。约书亚在那里，按着以色列人的支派，将地分给他们。便雅悯支派，按着宗族拈阄所得之地，是在犹大、约瑟子孙中间。

我听见以色列人各支派中受印的数目有十四万四千。犹大支派中受印的有一万二千；流便支派中有一万二千；迦得支派中有一万二千；亚设支派中有一万二千；拿弗他利支派中有一万二千；玛拿西支派中有一万二千；西缅支派中有一万二千；利未支派中有一万二千；以萨迦支派中有一万二千；西布伦支派中有一万二千；约瑟支派中有一万二千；便雅悯支派中受印的有一万二千。

你们要将地分作七份，写明了拿到我这里来。我要在耶和华我们神面前，为你们拈阄。
