那时，非尼哈站起，刑罚恶人，瘟疫这才止息。

祭司非尼哈与会中的首领，就是与他同来以色列军中的统领，听见流便人、迦得人、玛拿西人所说的话，就都以为美。祭司以利亚撒的儿子非尼哈对流便人、迦得人、玛拿西人说：“今日我们知道耶和华在我们中间，因为你们没有向他犯了这罪。现在你们救以色列人脱离耶和华的手了。”

从耶和华那里来的恶魔又降在扫罗身上（扫罗手里拿枪坐在屋里），大卫就用手弹琴。

次日，从神那里来的恶魔大大降在扫罗身上，他就在家中胡言乱语。大卫照常弹琴，扫罗手里拿着枪。扫罗把枪一抡，心里说，我要将大卫刺透，钉在墙上。大卫躲避他两次。
