Then an Israelite man brought into the camp a Midianite woman right before the eyes of Moses and the whole assembly of Israel while they were weeping at the entrance to the tent of meeting.

Then an Israelite man brought into the camp a Midianite woman. He did it right in front of the eyes of Moses and the whole community of Israel. They were weeping at the entrance to the tent of meeting.

And behold, one of the people of Israel came and brought a Midianite woman to his family, in the sight of Moses and in the sight of the whole congregation of the people of Israel, while they were weeping in the entrance of the tent of meeting.

Just then one of the Israelite men brought a Midianite woman into his tent, right before the eyes of Moses and all the people, as everyone was weeping at the entrance of the Tabernacle.

An Israelite man came bringing a Midianite woman to his relatives in the sight of Moses and the whole Israelite community while they were weeping at the entrance to the tent of meeting.

主諭之曰、爾巡行耶路撒冷邑中、凡因邑中所行可憎之事、嗟嘆欷歔者、則畫號於其額上、我聞主命其餘之人曰、爾曹從其後巡邑、徧行殺戮、爾目勿顧惜、爾勿加矜憫、老幼處子、孩提婦女、俱當殺盡、惟有號於額者勿殺、殺必始於我之聖所、彼乃自殿前之長老始、

爾當攻米甸人、為以色列人復仇、而後歸爾列祖、

當此時主萬有之天主、命哭泣哀號、薙髮衣麻、

主之使者、以此言告以色列人、民舉聲號泣、

如海中狂浪、自吐穢沫、如流蕩之星、終必歸於幽暗、永遠靡既、終必歸於幽暗永遠靡既原文作有永遠之幽暗為之而存

緣此、甘霖止息、秋雨不降、爾猶靦顏不知恥、有如淫婦、

與米甸女同見殺之以色列人名心利、乃撒路子、西緬支派中一族長、被殺之米甸女名哥斯比、乃米甸族長蘇珥之女、○

既聞此詛言、猶心中自慰曰、我雖剛愎自用、渴時痛飲、亦可獲安、主必不赦之、必動忌邪之心、震怒甚烈、氣忿若燄、以攻此人、以此書所載諸禍諸禍或作諸詛下同加諸其身、塗抹其名於天下、在以色列諸支派中、主必區別之、加之以禍、循此律法書所載約中之詛言、

斯後、諸牧伯就我曰、以色列民、祭司、及利未人、不絕離斯土之異族、行迦南人、赫人、比利洗人、耶布斯人、亞捫人、摩押人、伊及人、亞摩利人所行可憎之事、娶其女為妻、為媳、使聖裔與此異族相雜、牧伯及民長先犯此罪、我聞此事、自裂裹衣與外袍、拔髮與鬚、抑鬱而坐、凡懍遵以色列天主之言者、俱因被擄而歸者所犯之罪來見我、我抑鬱而坐、至獻晚祭時、

無論為土著、為外邦客旅、若敢故犯、即褻瀆主、其人必滅絕於民中、因其藐視主言、違逆主命、罪必歸之、必被翦滅、○

猶大遺民歟、爾其聽主言、萬有之主以色列之天主如是云、如爾執意往伊及而居於彼、則爾所懼之鋒刃、必追及爾於伊及、所慮之饑饉、必臨及爾於伊及、爾曹必亡於彼、凡執意往伊及、欲居於彼、必亡於鋒刃、饑饉、疫癘、我降之以災、不得脫免、靡有孑遺、萬有之主以色列之天主如是云、我向耶路撒冷居民、傾洩我之盛忿烈怒、爾曹至伊及後、我亦如是向爾曹傾洩我之烈怒、使爾曹受咒詛、令人驚駭、受詈罵、被羞辱、不得復見斯地、

以色列人擄米甸人之婦女幼孩、奪其一切牲畜羊群、又奪其所有之貲財、以火燬其所居之城邑、與所有之營、以所奪獲之貲財、所擄掠之人與畜、攜至摩押平原、約但河濱、耶利哥相對之處、欲入營見摩西、與祭司以利亞撒、及以色列會眾、摩西與祭司以利亞撒、並會眾牧伯、出營以迎之、摩西怒由戰而歸之軍長、千夫長、百夫長、謂之曰、爾何為存留婦女、彼曾從巴蘭之計、誘以色列人拜毘珥、得罪於主、以致主之會遇瘟疫、

彼喜於白晝宴樂、與爾同筵為瑕為垢、以其詭詐為樂、其目充於姦淫、獲罪不已、誘惑不堅者之心、慣於貪婪、是為可詛之輩、離正道而入迷途、從波朔子巴蘭之道、巴蘭因貪利行惡、因貪利行惡原文作慕行惡之值

猶底讀三四行、王遂以繕寫所用之刀割之、投於鑪之火中、待卷焚盡於鑪之火中、

爾託主名所傳於我之言、我不聽從、必循我口所出之言而為、必焚香灌奠、奉事天后、循我平日所為、循昔我列祖與王公、在猶大諸邑、在耶路撒冷街衢所為、當時我得飽食享福、不遇患難、

彼行可惡之事、知慚愧乎、彼毫不慚愧、不羞恥、故必傾仆於傾仆者之中、我鑒察之時、必顛蹶、主言之矣、○
