Then an Israelite man brought into the camp a Midianite woman right before the eyes of Moses and the whole assembly of Israel while they were weeping at the entrance to the tent of meeting.

Then an Israelite man brought into the camp a Midianite woman. He did it right in front of the eyes of Moses and the whole community of Israel. They were weeping at the entrance to the tent of meeting.

And behold, one of the people of Israel came and brought a Midianite woman to his family, in the sight of Moses and in the sight of the whole congregation of the people of Israel, while they were weeping in the entrance of the tent of meeting.

Just then one of the Israelite men brought a Midianite woman into his tent, right before the eyes of Moses and all the people, as everyone was weeping at the entrance of the Tabernacle.

An Israelite man came bringing a Midianite woman to his relatives in the sight of Moses and the whole Israelite community while they were weeping at the entrance to the tent of meeting.

Then behold, one of the sons of Israel came and brought to his relatives a Midianite woman, in the sight of Moses and in the sight of the whole congregation of the sons of Israel, while they were weeping at the entrance of the tent of meeting.

And indeed, one of the children of Israel came and presented to his brethren a Midianite woman in the sight of Moses and in the sight of all the congregation of the children of Israel, who were weeping at the door of the tabernacle of meeting.

And, behold, one of the children of Israel came and brought unto his brethren a Midianitish woman in the sight of Moses, and in the sight of all the congregation of the children of Israel, while they were weeping at the door of the tent of meeting.

An Israelite man came bringing a Midianite woman to his relatives in the sight of Moses and the whole Israelite community while they were weeping at the entrance to the tent of meeting.

Just then one of the Israelites came and brought to his brothers a Midianite woman in the plain view of Moses and of the whole community of the Israelites, while they were weeping at the entrance of the tent of meeting.

Behold, one of the children of Israel came and brought to his brothers a Midianite woman in the sight of Moses, and in the sight of all the congregation of the children of Israel, while they were weeping at the door of the Tent of Meeting.

让事奉耶和华的祭司站在圣殿门廊和祭坛中间，哭泣恳求说：“耶和华啊，求你顾惜你的子民，不要让外族人侮辱、讥笑你的产业说，‘你们的上帝在哪里呢？’”

对他说：“你去走遍耶路撒冷，在那些因城中可憎之事而叹息哀伤的人额上画个记号。”我听见祂对其余的人说：“你们要跟随他走遍全城，毫不留情地杀戮，将男女老幼全部杀尽，但你们不能伤害额上有记号的。你们要从圣所开始。”于是他们首先杀了殿前的众长老。

“你要为以色列人向米甸人报仇，之后你将归到祖先那里。”

那日，万军之耶和华呼召你们哭泣哀号，剃光头发，身披麻衣。

以色列人听了耶和华的天使说的话，就放声大哭，

他们是海中的狂涛，翻动着自己可耻的泡沫，是流荡的星星，有幽幽黑暗永远留给他们。

以斯拉从上帝的殿前起来，进了以利亚实的儿子约哈难的房间。他在那里不吃不喝，为流亡归来者的不忠而忧伤。他们在犹大和耶路撒冷发出通告，要求所有流亡归来的人在耶路撒冷集合。按照众首领和长老的决定，三天之内未到者，其财产会被没收，他本人也要被逐出流亡归来者的会。三天内，所有的犹大人和便雅悯人都聚集在耶路撒冷。九月二十日，大家都坐在上帝的殿前面的广场上。因为这事，加上当时下大雨，众人都战战兢兢。

因此，秋雨不降，春雨不来。你却仍然不知羞耻，一副娼妓的嘴脸。

与米甸女子一同被杀的以色列人名叫心利，是撒路的儿子，是西缅支派的一个族长。被杀的米甸女子名叫哥斯比，她父亲苏珥是米甸人的一个族长。

免得有人听了这誓言后，心存侥幸地说，‘即使我一意孤行，连累他人，也必平安无事。’耶和华绝不会赦免这样的人，祂必向这样的人发烈怒，使记在这书上的一切咒诅临到他身上，从世上抹去他的名字。耶和华必把他从以色列各支派中隔离出来，使他按律法书上约中的一切咒诅受惩罚。

这些事以后，众首领来告诉我说：“以色列民众、祭司和利未人还没有与当地各族分开，他们仍随从迦南人、赫人、比利洗人、耶布斯人、亚扪人、摩押人、埃及人和亚摩利人的可憎行为。他们为自己和自己的儿子娶这些人的女儿为妻，使圣洁的民族与当地的人混杂。首领和官员是这种不忠之事的罪魁。”一听到这些，我便撕裂衣服和外袍，拔掉头发和胡须，惊惧地坐下。听了以色列上帝的话而战抖的人都聚集在我周围，因为流亡归来的人不忠。我惊惧地坐在那里，直到献晚祭的时候。

但不管是以色列人还是外族人，若故意妄为，亵渎了耶和华，都要被铲除，因为他藐视耶和华的话，违背耶和华的命令，必须被铲除，罪责自负。”

那么，你们这些犹大的余民就要听听耶和华的话。以色列的上帝——万军之耶和华说，‘如果你们决意去埃及住，你们所害怕的战争和饥荒必紧紧地跟着你们。你们必死在埃及。凡决意去埃及住的人必要死于战争、饥荒和瘟疫，无人能逃脱我降的灾祸。’“以色列的上帝——万军之耶和华说，‘我曾把烈怒倾倒在耶路撒冷人身上，如果你们去埃及，我也要把我的怒气倾倒在你们身上。你们的下场将很可怕，被人责骂、咒诅和羞辱，再也见不到故土。’

以色列人虏获了米甸的妇女、孩子、牛羊和财物，将他们的城邑营寨付之一炬，带走了掳掠的人畜等战利品。他们来到耶利哥对面、约旦河边的摩押平原，把战利品交给摩西、以利亚撒祭司和以色列全体会众。摩西、以利亚撒祭司以及所有民众的首领都到营外迎接他们。摩西对回来的千夫长和百夫长发怒，说：“你们为什么让这些妇女活着？就是她们听了巴兰的指使在毗珥引诱以色列人背叛耶和华，以致瘟疫降在耶和华的会众身上。

他们多行不义，必自食恶果。他们喜爱在大白天寻欢作乐，是你们中间的败类和渣滓，一面和你们同席，一面以欺骗为乐。他们眼中充满淫欲，不停地犯罪，引诱那些信心不坚定的人。他们贪婪成性，实在是该受咒诅！他们离弃正道，走入歧途，重蹈比珥之子巴兰先知的覆辙。巴兰贪爱不义之财，

于是，加利亚的儿子约哈难和众将领及民众都不听从耶和华让他们留在犹大的命令。加利亚的儿子约哈难和众将领率领民众下到埃及的答比匿。民众中有流亡到各国又返回犹大的余民和护卫长尼布撒拉旦留给沙番的孙子、亚希甘的儿子基大利管理的男女妇孺、公主以及耶利米先知和尼利亚的儿子巴录。他们没有听从耶和华的命令。

王和臣仆听了这些话，既不惧怕，也没有撕裂衣服。犹底每读三四段，王就用书记的小刀把那几段割下来扔进火盆里，直到全卷被烧毁。

“我们不会听从你奉耶和华的名对我们说的话。但我们必照所许的愿向天后烧香奠酒，正如我们和我们的祖先、君王和官长在犹大各城和耶路撒冷街上所做的一样。那时，我们食物充足，生活幸福，无灾无祸。

他们做可憎的事会羞愧吗？不！他们不知廉耻，毫不脸红。因此，他们要与其他人一样灭亡，死在我的惩罚下。这是耶和华说的。
